You can not be more idiot.
Mirza beat Kuznetsova (recent Usopen Champ) last yeat 6-4 6-2 on this event.
This year Hingis beats a power player like Mirza, ranked 36 in the world, straight sets, and you wine about it. Get a life.
Great result Martina ;)

Talk about muscle parity

Martina's left forearm is normal sized, and Sania's is kinda puny compared to her right. I know that's true of a lot of tennis players, but gosh...

Unconvincing Hingis reaches second round in Dubai

By Barry Wood

DUBAI (Reuters) - Martina Hingis produced an unconvincing display on her way to a 6-3 7-5 victory over India's Sania Mirza in the first round of the Dubai Open on Tuesday.

It was an uneven performance from the Swiss former world number one against an opponent who also failed to find any consistency before a rowdy sell-out crowd.

"I'm happy to be through, to be honest," the 25-year-old told reporters. "It wasn't the greatest match I've played, but I'm through.
"It felt like a soccer game out there but it didn't really bother me. Maybe in the past I would get annoyed by the crowd but today I just tried to go through it.

"But I just couldn't find my rhythm, coming from playing indoors. I came here Friday, but it always takes you a couple of matches."

Hingis broke to 3-1 with a reflex volley at the net, only to drop serve in the next game to a crosscourt return before immediately regaining the lead with a dropshot.

Mirza held off two set points at 5-2 before Hingis fought off a break point at 5-3 and closed out on her fourth set point.

In the second set, Hingis broke three times but allowed Mirza to level on each occasion. Having failed to serve out the match at 5-4, Hingis broke again and secured the match.

"I felt I had the game under control and whenever I needed it I was able to step it up," said Hingis, who humbled Maria Sharapova in Tokyo earlier this month to reach her first final since returning to the tour at the beginning of the year.

"I wasn't thinking that I was going to lose the set because I felt she always had ups and downs. So did I, but every time I needed it I knew I could pressure her."

Hingis was noticeably slow around the court at times but put that down to her training program.

"I came back home after Tokyo and was doing a lot of physical work and conditioning, and I think I overdid it a little bit and I'm still recovering," she said. ( I wonder if that will affect her against Myskina, COME ON MARTINA!!!!!!!!)

With just 4 tournaments under her belt she is already top 50. By the time it comes to seedings at the French Open Hingis will forsure be top 10. Don't forget clay is suppose to be Hingis' best surface and that surface absorbs power. Thats the best part of having no points to defend!

I tried to post this earlier but it disappeared.

I didn't think she would lose to Sania.. sania has a nice game but that kind of "power" game doesn't bother Hingis that much. meaning, sania isn't a well enough rounded player to bother the likes of hingis.

I think she will beat myskina..

"It felt more like a soccer match out there," Hingis said. "She is not very big built and when she hits that forehand, you think `Whoa! Where did that come from?' But she needs to be more consistent."

Mirza was impressed after her first match with the five-time Grand Slam winner.

"Martina is one player I admired and was really disappointed that she wasn't around when I started playing the tour," Mirza said. "I am just excited to play with her and I think I played a great match and made her work hard for her points."

On the contrary, she was bothered infact. But Sania's failure to hold service(nothing unusual) that much certainly meant Hingis was never in great danger.I would say Hingis won because her serving was better and she held one more time in both sets.Hingis did show more experience and variety in some of the heated exchanges.but i don't think they won her the match as much as better service games(relatively).

Another straight sets win for Martina, but having to be stretched 7-5 in one of them against a not-in-form Mirza is a little worrying if she plans to win this tournament.
