View Full Version : Justine Henin-Hardenne Should Take Note Of This

you know, i'm going to get a lot of flack for bringing this up again, but i have to bring it up. roddick lost today (no major surprise) but he actually was very, very sick. he was puking on the sidelines in front of the spectators, had a 2 set lead, and squandered a match point and STILL played 3 more sets. below is an excerpt from sports.yahoo.com/ten, and i just wanna give him props for finishing the match. this was part of the davis cup, justine's was a grand slam final. give me bad rep or whatever you want, but this just proves that justine has no sportsmanship whatsoever, and that i am so dissappointed with her.:tape:

article:

"Roddick vomited several times on the sidelines during changeovers and took a timeout because his right hand cramped up during the third-set tiebreaker. Dehydrated, he spent a long time after the match getting fluids through an IV.

Roddick, who said he definitely would be available to play on Sunday, wasn't sure what caused him to feel nauseous. He said he hadn't eaten anything unusual.

"That was the worst I've felt after a match," he said. "I've cramped before, but I still felt like I had energy. This time, I felt drained."

Pavel realized Roddick was in trouble.

"I saw that his body was not fit any more," Pavel said. "Sometimes, when somebody's injured, he's going to hit as hard as he can and try to shorten the points. I sensed it in the fourth set.

"My strategy was to make him run a lot." Roddick was up 7-6 in the third-set tiebreaker, with two serves coming up. But he lost both and Pavel went on to win when Roddick netted one forehand and hit another long for the final point of the set. "

I agree, and this wasn't even a GS final. Poor Andy, I'm not really a fan, but that had to suck.

Yeah and it probably would've only been another 4 games. 15, maybe 20 minutes tops and it would've been over.

Some other posts from SAEKeithSerna (The WitchHunter) :)
concerning JH2:

he 2 most hated players for me are playing in a semi-final...... who do i root for? maria sharapova 1)because she has gamesmanship besides the shrieking and 2)clijsters or mauresmo will actually kick her ass.

52 votes for henin-hardenne and 16 for sharapova? i'm sorry, but i know she won sydney last week, but there is no way she has a better chance than sharapova and half of these girls in my opinion.

i can't stand her

finally justine gets a dose of her own medicine.

about time justine gets a dose of her own medicine.

excellent article. justine got what she finally deserved. i hope she is completely miserable.

my hate for her isn't new. however, it has been elevated to the highest potential possible.

okay, that is irrelevant.

i don't like andy roddick either, but he FINISHED, even though he lost. that is the point, and that is that. find every post you want to that i wrote about justine, it doesn't matter if i like her or not, i'm just saying that what she did was wrong, and today andy roddick proved it.

and now that i'm a "witchhunter" i'm gonna go find me some witches:fiery:

So I guess it would take a death from a player on court for them to not get dissed because they quit a match............

Brave on Andy's part but very stupid to jeapordize his health.....sorry that's how I feel about it........

And neither were grandslam finals playing against someone looking to win their maiden grandslam. Not only that, Serena TWISTED her damn ankle in one of the matches she retired from (fall has never been shown on tv because it was that bad) and the other match she was serving like 70 mph during a shoulder injury that probably would've gotten worse had she continued playing. What was going to happen to Justine's stomach if she played for at least 4 more games??? NOTHING! Don't even try, so pointless for you to even bring Serena into this thread when it has nothing to do with her.

I guess that is a good thing. As the dear and beloved Joan Crawford (portrayed by Oscar-nominated actress, Faye Dunnaway, directed by Frank Perry about a tell-all book written by Christina Crawford) once said at a Pepsi Board meeting, "The sword cuts both ways, fellas."

I think Roddick could learn something from Justine as well, like.. err, winning matches. :tape:

Oops, Justine had a shoulder injury during the whole AO, which was why she was taking the anti-inflamatory in the first place. :tape:

And honestly, you don't know what could have happened in 4 more games (or how many the match would last). Pointless is to bring this subject up every two days just for the sake of hating on a player.

I find it funny the Williamses' fans who beg their lives not to see their favorites playing injured or out of shape to escape humilliation when they hate on Justine for quitting the match for the same reason (according to them), while she was obviously feeling sick.

Like there were some people begging for Serena to retire from the 2004 YEC final, and just because she did they feel it's right to criticize Justine? That's a lame double-standard.

I'm not talking about YOU in particular, but I've seen it and we all know it.

So I guess it would take a death from a player on court for them to not get dissed because they quit a match............

Do you care about justine's stomach? No

Who cares about Serena ankle or shoulder. In your opinion Justine should play in mine Serena shouldn't quitted. It's cheap excuse she quitted because it would've gotten worse injury when you're posting that HH should play because it was GS.

I'm kinda wondering this: Would the JHH quiting in Grand Slam final thing have less criticism if it was a Tier 1/Tier 2/Tier 3/Challenger final? Would JHH have no criticism if she retired in an early round?

Oh, and does this mean Justine will now always have to take note of people getting sick during the match but managing to finish the match off, win or lose?

You're lying now or you lied before. Becuase you posted few days ago that you hate her.

I can ask too. If Roddick played 5 sets why Serena retired 4 times last year?

Why can't you accept the fact that Justine is Evil one for all ? Then you wouldn't feel the need to find constant justifications to hate her ; you would hate her because that's the way it should be, period!
