I thought she said she was in so much pain, and wasn't going to play for two moths at least!

I hope she isnt rushing back to play in front of her home crowd. Bad move if she is! Kim needs to be sure she's fit before she comes back.

See, That's why you should follow the injury-reports on this board, it would make a thread like this useless :p ;)

We can trash Justine for weeks, but God forbid if one questions saint Kim^s continual exaggerated injuries. As for Andy, I don^t know when he got sick but he WAS up two sets to none. It is much more likely and reasonable that one would play injured or sick when one is way ahead in a match. Justine was never in her match in the AO final.

I believe she's still considering playing...don't think that's the wisest thing to do seeing what happened the last time she was 'half-injured'......but it's in front of her homecrowd, so she might be willing to take a risk or two..

And even if she doesn't play, she's also handing out a bottle of champaign to every single person attending the wednesday-session............ :drink:
Celebrating she's no.1 again..

mmmh why is Kim in Antwerp?
Well I think she wants to play, she thinks she is fit to play and she comes from belgium. So she wants to play in front of her home crowd.

Noone says you can trash justine for weeks; it's just that justinefans are smart enough not to react to all the **** on this board and then STILL those threads go to 8 pages.

Easy to do when you're not injured

The bitch is a drama queen. I can see why Justine kept her distance from Kim.
It all makes sense now. Daniela, Myskina, and Elena are all drama queens too.
Kim hangs out with them like its no tommorrow.
I dont trust Kim as far as I can throw her and considering she has a giant ass for a European, that is virtually impossible.

We can trash Justine for weeks, but God forbid if one questions saint Kim.

As you yourself acknowledge, Kim is closer to God than the rest of us, so she heals quicker.

I thought that was common knowledge!

In your dreams mate! ;)

And hey, c'mon, try and think of a witty or at least halfway intelligent riposte, instead of trying to get personal (and failing miserably)! :D

Except for the trashing that Kim took for a full two weeks during the AO with thread after thread questioning her injury, complaining about the frequency of her injury updates or claiming Kim is a bitch in general. So that is the reason for the  for this thread. And there seem just as many people hating Kim as there are loving her here in watworld. Besides, that whole "I need to post this because I am the only person in the whole wide world who can see she is not the saint 'everyone' claims she is" is getting really old. There are quite a few of you.

I like Kim. I thinks she is the best player we have unless someone resurrects Serena. She's the only one at present who looks credible to me as the number 1. I would ask the same question because its not one but at least 3 injuries that killed a pretty overwhelming run at the AO and she is playing Antwerp less than 3 weeks later?

You have to wonder if this makes sense and if its bound up with her mindset about retiring - she won't be playing Antwerp more than once more so perhaps keenness to play there is clouding wiser judgement?

I am sooo pleased for Kim that her recovery is going better than the doctors first thought. She had 45 mins light training for the first time yesterday so we'll just have to see how it goes before we know if she'll actually play.

Most Kim fans including myself would prefer it if she didn't risk Antwerp - but I do understand that playing in front of her home crowd means a lot to her - and her eyes lit up when she realised she had a chance. It's her decision to make. I'm sure she won't go against doctors advice but I think there's going to be a grey area where the doctors won't commit to saying don't play - and say something like you mustn't do splits, there's a small risk, but it's up to you .......

She'll obviously leave her decision as late as possible. I believe if she leaves it really late to withdraw she'll get a fine. But she's done the best she can for the WTA, Tournament and the fans going there - being really upfront about it so we can judge for ourselves what her chances are. And the system of fines just doesn't take this into account. You know - there's a lot of difference withdrawing out the blue and withdrawing late when you've been upfront.

Finally - thrust - your post:

I can understand your frustration at all that hate against Justine - which I wasn't part of I might add - but two wrongs don't make a right. Is it really neccessary to lash out at another injured player - Kim - who is working her guts off to come back and play a favourite tournament of hers and letting everyone know about the good news.

I'd rather she not play. It's too risky. I know it's for the home crowd pleasant but still she can just be there and not playing.

Because she wants to retain the no.1 ranking and she's ready to do anything for that.

Hopefully Kim is really healthy enough to play next week without reinjuring herself. Perhaps I, like some others, tend to be overly critical of our favorites main rivals. I do not dislike Kim at all, but I do think either she or her handlers tend to overstate some of her injuries. But then, perhaps she is a quick healer. She sure does seem to be a great natural athlete!
