Match #1: Safina (7) def. Mauresmo (1) 64 26 64. It is time for Amelie to have her big letdown after scooping up the YEC and AO. This match will probably be a replay of what happened in the final last year, with Dinara smacking Amelie's loopy defensive shots for winners.
Match #2: Tatiana Golovin def. Nadia Petrova (3) 76 76. Tati always makes the semi-finals at this tournament, and 2006 is not going to be an exception. Nadia :wavey:

Match #3: Dementieva (5) def. Schnyder (4) 64 46 76. The match is going to back and forth with momentum shifts, chokes, double faults, dubious line calls but in the end Elena will emerge the winner.
Match #4: Pierce (2) def. Loit 64 62. Last time they played at the USO 2 years ago, Mary won easily. The crowd will be divided but the outcome is evident.
