The quarterfinals are set in Pattaya. Who will win the tournament now?

Sybille Bammer vs. Melinda Czink
(4)Shahar Peer vs. Lourdes Dominguez-Lino
(5)Nuria Llagostera-Vives vs. (3)Catalina Castano
Emma Laine vs. Jelena Kostanic

Its very interesting to see 4 left-handers left in the draw. Plus if you look at the match-ups you would think it would be a clay tournament! Seems like the surface is very slow and clay-courters have it easy to develop their game.

most of the lefties have been stuck in the lower reaches of the rankings for a few years now... the only lefty consistently in the Top 30 during the last four years is Schnyder.

My first choice was Vera, but she lost in the 1st Round. Sam Stosur didn't play (withdraw). Sybille is good but I don't think she has a chance to win Pattaya. So it is a hard choice.
I think Shahar has a good chance to win!

QF
Czink beats Bammer
Peer beats Dominguez-Lino
Llagostera Vives beats Castano
Kostanic beats Laine

SF
Peer beats Czink
Llagostera Vives beats Kostanic

F
Peer beats Llagsotera Vives

Laine has been playing pretty well of late, I'd be surprised if she didn't make the semi's.

RIGHT ON!

She is the sweetest girl. When she lost to Zvonareva after having a MP in Philly 04, she still signed autographs for everyone who wanted one. She also has a good attitude on court. GOOO SYBILLE!

yep but they're getting better. Loit is coming back into her own and Safarova is a future star IMO.

6 out of 16 quarter-finalists for this week are lefties - not bad considering estimates put us as a nineth of population :)
