Aiko is so hot and cold :o

Congrats to Lourdes though, she's finally finding her way after a slow start to her career :)

You'd think Pattaya was a clay court tournament with the results we've seen this week

It is surprising,Nakamura was in form (she reached the 3rd round at the AO).
But congrats and good luck for tomorrow Lourdes
Wasn't she a former RG junior champion???

Great work Loudes...nice to see she'll be getting into bigger events from now on. She needs to get some points under her belt before defending Bogota though. Bet she's not lamenting the loss of quality points ;)

Not too surprising IMO.

Spanish girls usually do well (in not very fast surfaces) against players who hit the ball flat and are not used to play moonballs. I'm sure Aiko (very few tournaments played in clay through her career) wasn't ready to attack all those moonballs Lourdes delivered

I remember some years ago Virginia Ruano beating seeded Amy Frazier 60 60 in Madrid

Yeah, most Asian players always have problems against moonballers. :o

Well done Lourdes. This was an unexpecting win, but well done for making the Quarter Finals.

Ask Sugiyama...Martínez Granados surely moonballed her to death in Melbourne

two-handers simply cannot handle top-spin and moonballs
