Very doable first round against Stéphanie Foretz.

Am afraid I don't dare to look further than 1R with Golovin in 2R

*Jool*
Jan 13th, 2006, 11:56 AM
Foretz indeed can make me lose my day , she already did it more than once , but if Kata is fit and healthy (hope she recovered ) she'll win
Then 2nd round winnabkle too against Golovin
3rd round Kuzzie , why not ?

but I'd be glad if she wins one match (better than 05) and make a good fight against Tati

I went to bed with Kata losing the first and being down 4-3 in the second and I just didn't have a good feeling. It's really a shame, cause the draw opened up nicely, but at least she did better than last year.

There's still doubles though: Go Kata/Shino!!!

Must have been a grueling match, close to three hours. If you look at the statistics it seems like Kata was probably drained in the third... Not strange after a bout of gastroenteritis...

Today Srebotnik/Asagoe vs Huber/Schiavone

Srebotnik/Zimonjic vs Huber/Ram

I hope i get to see at least one of those as Huber is South African so maybe South Africa's coverage will show her :p they sometimes do but normally not the early rounds!!

Go Katarina these are harder matches but u can do it along with ur partners!!!!!!!

CooCooCachoo
Jan 21st, 2006, 05:14 PM
Two matches in the heat :o Twice against Liezel

I think Huber/Schiavone is doable. Huber/Ram is tougher.

But Srebotnik and Zimonjic were runners up at the US open if i am not mistaken!! At least the mixed doubles is later so around 4 or 5 pm i guess Aus time the womans doubles is the first match so 11 am they will want to get it over with quickly i imagine. Hopefully straight sets for Kata and Shinobu

Kata / Shino fought their way back against Huber/Schiavone both in the first and third set and took it 6-4 3-6 7-6 (5). First MP taken on Shino's serve :D

So proud of them  Now hopefully Kata is not too exhausted :scared:

Lol that match was evil  i thought they were gone  it was 4-1 down in the 3rd set then they went 6-5 up then tiebreak which i hate to end a match then 4-1 down in tiebreak and now win YAY

But yeah now hopefully she isn't too tired for mixed.

But yeah GO KATA :woohoo:

Grand Phantasm
Jan 27th, 2006, 05:25 PM
Well the chinese won so at least they lost to the eventual champions. Against the chinese they kinda played bad. Also near the end Katarina bitched at the umpire it was kinda funny :p

Against Rennae and Cara they were just brilliant. I watched the whole match and couldn't take my eye off it for 1 second

The mixed doubles her and Nenad had the chance to get the second set in the tiebreak but they didn't think Ram would put the ball bback into play and they kinda both never went for the next shot and that was a set point so they could have got that second set. Anyway it was a good tourney for her in doubles hopefully at the french her singles and mixed she can do better in and maybe even better in doubles :p
