Well it looks as if Sandrine will finally re-enter the top 10 this week! :)

A great achievement!

Amelie has winners points to defend and unless she makes the final, she will most likely make way for Sandrine.

Im sorry for Amelie and her fans, but this is very good news for Sandrine and her followers ;) Hopefully she consolidates and has a great week!!!!!

*fingers crossed*

Terry, you noticed?

I just hope Sandrine will have a solid week and her ankle is ok. We can celebrate in the lounge after the tourney is over. I'll pop the Don Perignon. ;)

I believe so, Hurley.

Great job, Sandrine! Quite an achievement at 103 years old. ;)

Hey, if Martina pulls out of the French [], Sandrine will be a Top 8 seed at a major for the first time in her life!

GoS, of course it's me! It's Eternity by Calvin Klein, and I'll have a vodka and cran, thanks. ;)

Hurely, turn around first so I can check out your bum and give you a spanking. :p

Martina is out of the French???

Pervert. :p [spins]

It's rumored. I personally have thought she would ever since she pulled out of the Italian.

nice arse....now drop em! :p

Personally I don't think being an eight or nine seed really makes much of a difference. There will be more pressure as an eight seed and Sandrine seems to like the underdog role - but I won't complain. ;)

Well, it makes a huge difference in her draw.

Seeded 8, she would face someone ranked lower than her in the round of 16: Mauresmo (who she beats often), Farina (please), Hantuchova (still streaky), or Shaughnessy/Dementieva (please).

Seeded 9, she'd play Hingis (need I remind you of that record), Henin (umm), Seles (umm), or Dokic (umm).

And also, she'd play a 25-32 seed in the round of 32, instead of a 17-24 seed. It really doesn't make a huge difference in that part.

But let's say she makes the round of 16...wouldn't you rather have her play Farina or Shaughnessy than Henin, Seles, or Hingis for a spot in the quarters?? :p

Anyway, it's all speculation. Martina is still entered.

*puts Hurley over my knee*

well, I see where you're coming from and I don't disagree but the French crowd can be tough and there will definitely be more pressure as a higher seed. If Sandrine were to play someone like Monica or Justine she may be more likely to play loose. Same goes for Martina and Jelena, especially with both hurting. Even though Sandrine's record against Martina is abominable, the time is ripe for an upset with Sandrine playing well, the French crowd behind her, and Martina slumping somewhat. I like Sandrine in the underdog role and I'd love to see the crowd go wild (I'll be there in person) ;) with an upset over a grand slam contender.

*rolls up sleeve*

I want Sandrine to play Hingis so she can crush her finally.

Sandrine plays better against top players.

Oh that's wonderful that she plays well against the top players.

So, my question to you guys is: Would you rather have her play well or win? :p

GoSandrine
May 15th, 2002, 03:41 AM
both :p

Congratulations to Sandrine and fans! Excellent achievement! I hope she will be a permanent fixture and I also hope Amelie can make it back so we see two French Top 10 women!

Sonja you are so nice.

You've inspired me to put Amelie on our spared players list! :D

Thanks so much, Sonja. You're a Sweetie.

psst, I've been trying to get Amelie on the list but he wouldn't listen to me.

Sonja

Scotso - Thanks!!

I sometimes think she needs to be spared from the Amezons :p We whack her over the head with a racket (in chat) when she's playing badly, march her off to practice her serve or do drills, and there's always the chasing after her in a lustful fog :hearts:

So Scotso, spare her, but pull her out again for us to play with *abuse* sometimes ok? http://www.theunholytrinity.org/cracks_smileys/otn/laughing/icon_smile_lachuh.gif
