 My family doesn't like Martina at all!Well they think that i'm to0 obsessed by Martina :o and they are always rooting for her opponent. One time i had a HUGE fight with my mom about Martina and she said that i see Martina as a god or something and that i'm crazy but i defended myself and Martina and then my mother said : I hope that she will break all her bones and muscles:fiery: That was so mean   :fiery:

my whole family disliked steffi because I was obsessed too, they think all troubles I had were because I started to watch her, yeah right
my mother still likes monica for the simple reason that I was a Steffi fan

My family (plus friends) thinks Martina is an arrogant brat

They don't really have an opinion on Amanda :)

It's thanks to my mother that I became an Agassi-fan...so no problem there...my father is rooting for his oponents every time...especially when it's the classic Andre-Pete match-up :(
They both like Kim and Justine, they're not real fans though....they are not so interested in WTA-tennis....allthough my mother loves to root against Martina together with me ;) :p

My family absolutely adore Eleni Daniilidou because its not often a Greek sportswoman makes headlines :o They were all watching her progress at Aus Open and sometimes even ask me how she is doing on tour ;)

As for Iva Majoli...they dont know who she is  :o

My folks and I never talk about tennis. If they know anything about any of the players, I wouldn't know.

My Mum loves Kim! She thinks she's really nice but her favourite players are Tammy and Paradon because they are Thai. My Dad is a right muppet and takes the mickey out of ALL the players I like! I mean Im a big Hewitt fan and last night he made so comment about Lleyton being a cheapskate cos' said something like "Look! he can't afford his own water! see! he has to nick loads of bottles out of the cool box!" ugh! How immature! :o

My parents like to hear about Justine from time to time...how she is playing, her ranking, and all that good stuff, but they think I am obsessed. They are right! ;) I can't help it though! It worries them sometimes, but hey! They'll get over it! It's what makes me happy that's important! :bounce:

they don't think much of anna. and actually rub it in sometimes when she loses. but what can you do? it's not like i'll stop supporting someone even if people don't like her. besides, it's something you get used to. and it makes it all the more satisfying once she gets her form back. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys/1.gif

I don't really have many problems with my family because nobody in my family really cares about men's tennis except my brother... he's a big Andre and Pete fan and hates Lleyton for the simple fact that I adore him and cheers for his opponents but Lleyton wins so often that he doesn't get to rub it in too much lol... and women's tennis, well everybody in my family likes Kim although some have other favorites, like my sister with Serena !

Hi:kiss:

My mum also likes Martina Hingis as well but sometimes sometimes when she watches a match she will get really excited and that just annoys me as she doesn't even know what she is cheering for half the time. So then she asks me alot of questions about it!

First of all, my mom is the only one besides me to know a thing about tennis. She doesnt really care about Justine but she thinks Anna is very pretty. She JenCap better than Martina  :fiery: but her favorite player is Mary Pierce:D

My dad is not really interested in tennis. He's more into rugby football but he admires the Williams sisters. At times he'd ask me: " Why do they wear those odd coloured dresses? My mother doesn't even care to know anything about tennis. She would tell me that she has more " worthy things to attend to then to make idols out of people." (yup! she's very religious and commited).
My sisters are just as crazy as I am with the Williams sisters. So yeah that's how my story goes:D :D :D

My parents and my sister think I'm too obsessed with Martina, and my dad goes out of his way to root for her opponent. I have to scream at him to shut him up.

I have a friend who would rather support everyone else in the WTA than to go for Martina. They think she's an arrogant brat who always smiles. And then they laugh when she loses and acts like its a big joke, but its not a joke to me. And they really enjoy it when Anna loses too, cos they don't think Anna's any good.

EVERYONE around me SUCKS! They need better taste in tennis, god damn it.

My mum and my sister love Martina! :) She's their favourite player. My lil brother loves Martina as well, and he's only 5. My dad doesn't mind Martina, but he thinks she isn't strong enough. He likes Lindsay ad Jelena more.

Everyone in my family hate the Williams sisters, except me.  They think the sisters are arrogant.

My family dont care at all about tennis and dont have an opinion about Martina.
But I guess they would like her to win much coz they are happy for me then.
I am glad they dont root against her like with some of you guys otherwise it would get so mad on them.
My father kinda likes martina, but only coz of her....uhm...... physical attributes.

They think I'm a little bit obess but not too much and there's a friendly rivality between my father and I. As I cheer for Kim he cheers for the other Belgian, Justine. So we are always against each other!!! But I always win!!!

My family think I'm strange. Period. Being interested in womens tennis just enforces their belief. :) That's ok, they are the ones who are missing out. :) Seriously, they wouldn't know the difference between a raquet and a net. The only player my brother knows about is Anna Kournikova. Needless to say he's not interested in her backhand.;)

When I ask my sister about tennis, she just says "Next Question?" She knows NOTHING. Absolutely Nothing and she lives quite close to Wimbledon as well. I just can't understand how their brains work sometimes. :)

Hehehehe, my dad is really the only one that really watches any tennis with me, but he isn't a huge fan. When a final comes he will always side with one of the players, and it is usually the opposite one to who I'm supporting.
He is funny in his support, I think he prefers the guy I'm supporting to lose, more than his guy to win, if you know what I mean, he is a bit of a dog in that respect.

My dad doesn't really know the extent of which I adore Daniela, but when she is on TV, he'll say "Oh Simon, Your favourite girl is on!!" (as if I would know that Dani is on TV).

But, he will come in the room, and say things like, "Geee, she very skinny" or "She has no chest, but if you don't like breasts, she is beautiful".................but when he say those things, I kind of restrain myself, and just ignore him.
I mean, I could tell him to shut up, but then I think I'll reveal too much.........hehehehehe. ;)

My mates on the other hand know I'm slightly obsessed with Daniela. One of them was with me at the tennis, when I first saw Daniela, and the other one didn't even know she was a girl when he first saw a picture of her....... But I have a wallpaper of Dani on my desktop, and he always says "She still on there, your obsessed man".

The thing that probably proves I'm in a bit of trouble when it come to Daniela is that whenever she is brought up in conversation, I get all embarrassed and try to change the subject. I guess I adore her heaps........

My family know how much tennis means to me, and mum always asks if I've got time off during the Australian Open to go, and when I'm working a bit during the Open, dad alway say, "But you'll miss out on all the tennis!!!", as if I wasn't feeling bad enough, he likes to rub it in, even when he doesn't mean to.
This year I missed out on the Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights tennis in the 2nd week, which I was working, which was disappointing, but I couldn't do anything............

So, my family is quite supportive when it comes to tennis, but dad enjoys having a dig at me once in a while....:)

EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY loves the Williams sisters. My sister works for and I worked for Chase and during the 2000 Chase Championship my sister took my mom to the Garden to see a few matches. She came back gushing about Kim. So now, everytime I say I am going to a tourney (Pilot Pen and US Open this year) she wants me to take her and she ask about the Williams sisters and tada KIM. I have relatives in Jamaica and suprisingly they get a lot of tennis because they have sattalite. So me and my Jamiacan cusins are always talking tennis when I call down there. They even called during the US Open semis 2001. My sister is a casual fan and gets mad at me if the sisters are playing on TV and I dont call and tell her and her husband. They even were at the US Open match (White turkey gate). So now, I have to call several people when Venus and Serena are playing and now I have to call my mother when Kim is playing on US tv. ;)
