listening to the radio today, the announcer tried to make a joke. "anna kournikova is suing for invasion of privacy due to penthouse's taking of naked photos. it may be the first time ever that kournikova wins something on a court"

 ;)

Oh what a surprise, some person that has probably never played tennis in his life, tries to make a joke about Anna, that's original.

Poor Anna! :( It's too bad she has to put up with such nonsense. Her confidence is shot. I think a sports psychologist could help her. But Anna might be too stubborn to ask for help. I hope it's not too late for Anna to still have a fine career. But she's cutting it awfully close!

people have the right to make jokes, and I don't think it's in bad taste. she has millions to her name and can barely win a match these days.......

The simple fact of the matter is it's jokes like this that represent a barometer as to how the world in general view Kournikova. For people who are not fans of Women's tennis the success of Kournikova merely adds weight to the rather cynical argument that women's sport is more about style than substance. Untill Kournikova begins to win tournaments on a regular basis remarks/jokes like this will continue to be commonplace. Fans of Kournikova may not like these jibes at their beloved Anna but you have to remember that the most popular female athlete is also the world's most famous loser. Granted it may be a tad harsh but them be the facts.

InSaNiTy, me thinks you missed my point, I agree I thought the joke while hardly original was well timed and got a laugh out of me as well. However you merely have to read the posts of many of the Kournikova fans here and elsewhere to see that jokes like this are hitting a raw nerve with regards to her continued utter lack of success as a tennis player (doubles don't count).
