doris, i haven't read anything about emanuelle. but i guess she's stilll in bed. how long dos it take to recover form measles? i have no idea.

and jomar, the nzz is a serious paper, i don't think they would write something like that lightly. but nevertheless IT IS speculation, of course.

Well its very evident that Martina has been suffering with foot problems a lot lately...in Miami she had to withdraw from the doubles finals with Anna because of right plantar fascitis and strained tendon...then she was off a month before the Betty Barclay tournament...was she practicing too hard?...is she trying to become more powerful by lifting weights and ultimately putting too much pressure on her feet? Having seen no visable signs of foot problems at BB when did this injury occur? I think she must have had a weakness there from the beginning...she said she was on painkillers all week...I think she needs to "fess up" and admit what and when this problem surfaced!! Now, hopefully once she is examined by her doctor all these damn nagging questions will be answered once and for all...Come on! Marti we need you to be out there...we all hope and pray for a good medical report!!

I hope this isn't true :(

But maybe she'd better just have the surgery, and then maybe finally get completely rid of the injury!

It is sad but she really needs to get rid of these foot problems. She has been having problems with her foot for more than two years now. And many times she will seem fast and then right after that she seems slower in the next match or next week. I definitely don't think she will play Roland Garros but we will see. I guess it depends on what kind of surgery it is.

Isn't it unfortunate for her. Now when she do not have the 21 tourneys and could use them, this happens. I think Lindsay was out for ages but is still secured in the top 10. hingis on the other hand has to pray she doesn't take a month off for any reason cos she'll fall down to the top 15 or 15-20 if she is lucky. It's just sad.

Just couldn't not take a shot, could you? Like it looked accidental, hidden in blandishments?

  GET WELL SOON MARTINA.

It's a pity Martina wore those Sergio Tacchini (sp.) shoes years ago. Hopefully, she won't be riddled by all these foot/ankle injuries for the rest of her career.

I start to wonder, why are it sergio tacchini shoes? Are no the adidas wrong? Steffi,Martina and Anna all have/had chronic footproblems!
I hope she doesn't need surgery, the french will be less fun without martina!

from what I've read its all them guessing what she might need, lets just hope they're not right, she hasn't been checked out by her doctor yet, so lets just wait and see...and pray she doesn't have to miss out on RG or anything more, that would be truly sad, having only just come back from the operation on her left foot
