A friend of mine is looking for information for his trip and was wondering how long it took to travel from Citavecchia (the port) to Rome (the airport), by car or taxi? He was also wondering whether it was a straightforward road. I had no idea myself, so I offered to ask the question here. If you have any information, post it here.

That would be approximately 45 miles or so... leaving Civitavecchia he should take the freeway southbound and after about 30 miles he'll find the exit for the airport, which actually leads him onto the Roma-Fiumicino highway... it should be pretty straightforward. He must take into account some traffic on the last stretch of road, considering it's always busy, but I take it he could be there in little less than one hour :)

Well, when I drive around in Italy, I don't need almost an hour for just 45 miles even with traffic ... speed up  ;)
