From CNNSI:
"Clijsters, the18-year-old rising star who has climbed to No. 3"
How high has someone to be ranked before just being a star and not a rising one. That's now a year that Kim is a "rising star". I think she's an established topplayer by now.
What will they call her when she's number 2? Or number 1?

When she is No.1 she will be THE STAR! :)

Well, they call her that because they expect her to rise from her current position.

Yeah, what disposablehero here said... I think that's why they call her a rising star although I agree, she should be considered a star now

She is still rising this year 5...4...3. I would say that she is a rising star and an established topplayer at the same time.

what's the problem? Kim is a star and is rising, not falling. There's hardly been a week in the last 18 months when Kim has either risen or stayed the same.

But she'll need to do well at Roland Garros is she doesn't want to slip back outside the top-5.

i think she's a rising star until she wins a slam, i don't mean to be direspectful to kim, she's done great recently and deserves everything she has achieved however she needs to be winning slams and not doing well upto the point she faces a capriarti, lindsay and venus in the later rounds to be considered a major force.
