I went with Rachel Mac. When I saw The Notebook, I kept thinking to myself that the lead actress looked so familiar. I was like, where have I seen her before? OMG! It's Regina George from Mean Girls!!!!! Talk about two completely different characters.

Natalie's ok-she's inconsistent though. she was awesome in closer, but she sucked in the star wars movies.

Kirsten sucks.

Rachel has a lot of talent but she should pick better movies to be in. Red Eye was :o

Scarlett is definitely the best out of these, picks great roles. consistently gives great performances. I picked her.

personally i love kirsten dunst. i dont know why people hate her!she was totally awesome in mona lisa smile and crazy/beautiful. i also like rachel mcadams a lot!

dakota is awesome, but i'm sick of her traumatised, too-old-ofr-my-age type roles. i wonder how she'll do playing a young person.

and brittany murphy is AWESOME!especially in don't say a word.

Milla Jovovich? She was only good in "The Messenger" and that's it.

I voted for Scarlett Johansson. Lost in Translation, Girl With The Pearl Earing, and Match Point, the others just wish they had these roles. Scarlett rocks!

that was by far her best performance in a movie - very funny. the rest were pretty poor - isn't she really model anyway?

scarlett is the best actress in that list but i've got a huge crush on Rachael McAdams - although i still can't believe she's 29!!

Scarlett Johannson hasn't done enough stuff yet really, although she was fab in Lost in Translation. Natalie Portman was rubbish in the Star Wars films but she is a great actress in other stuff.
Kirsten Dunst has been in just about every film ever, but I find her *so* irritating!

Keira Knightley can't act, she just *pouts* ;)

Wow surprised to see a few people don't appreciate keira's talent...hmm...have you guys seen the recent movie version of Pride and Prejudice? She was amazing in that film. My fave film of 2005 actually. Because of that, I voted for her. She just got a Golden Globe nomination for her role in that film. I guess the American actresses would lead in a poll like this what with their greater exposure to the rest of the world. Keira hasn't done that much to showcase her talent.

Natalie was great in Closer and Garden State. I hope she continues to pick good roles. I'm sure she'll get better with age. By the way, Keira and Natalie do look alike to me.

I've seen a lot of Scarlett's films. She's a good actress and does justice to the characters she portrays but I don't remember being blown away by any of her performances. I'm dying to see Match Point...sucks that it's not showing where I'm vacationing at the moment.

Rachel is also good...Loved her in The Notebook, Mean Girls, and Wedding Crashers but like someone said, she has to pick better roles. Haven't seen Family Stone (?).

Kirsten...ummm...well I don't like her acting style...don't consider her a great actress and so far I don't think she'll be winning Oscars in the future...Of course, she could prove me wrong...I'm excited to see Marie Antoinette directed by Sofia Coppola though...

The only reason Scarlett and Rachel are leading in this poll is cos of their looks, especially Rachel, who is the "it" girl of the moment. Neither Scarlett or Rachel have been in role like that of Natalie's in Closer [I still haven't seen Match Point, though]. Scarlett is gorgeous, but none of her performances are memorable to me. The Notebook wouldn't have been nearly as good without Gosling as the lead - I don't think Rachel made that movie. Rachel's role in Wedding Crashers could have been done by most actresses. Red Eye and Mean Girls do not interest me in the least bit. That said, I do think she's talented, and now I want her to prove it.

Can't really comment on Keira.

Kirsten has loads of talent, she just needs to pick better movies.

I have to go with Natalie here as she is the only one who has shown what she's capable of. Sure, she was shit in Star Wars, but so was everyone else. Blame that on George Lucas, not the actors.

This is a pretty sad list if compared to a best actors under 30 list.

Nope, these days she's more of an actress than a model
