A thread for all of us addicted to s.h.o.p.p.i.n.g.

> > >

I am absolutely addicted to these books - I am currently reading the first book - "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and I am almost finished it. I read it every night before I go to bed and I'm usually wired until the early morning hours.

Who else loves these books?

I don't know them, BUT...

I do have a confession to make.

When I get my paycheck every month, the first thing I do, is buy a new pair of shoes. Even though I don't really need them. Just gotta have it. :speakles:

Okay, I edited the name of the topic and edited the post. :)

The books are about a twenty-something year-old woman named Becky Bloomwood. She works as a financial journalist for a magazine called Successful Savings - in other words, she manages other people's money, but she can't manage her own as she is addicted to shopping. She gets in trouble with the bank, tries different ways to become rich or stop being in debt, but none of these things seem to work. It is really, really funny.

shopping can get people in a lot of trouble. but i think if it's a habit you can afford then there's nothing really wrong with it.

The thing is that she can't resist her favourite things - Denny & George scarves, French Connection skirts - and she can't afford any of it, so she puts it on her VISA and pretends she can't find the bill when VISA sends it to her.

At times, Becky tries MMM - Making More Money, but that doesn't work. But then she decides to CB - Cut Back, but she thinks she isn't the type of person for that. She meets a guy, Luke Brandon, who is really rich and that is where I am now.

All the clothes I like are waaay too expensive, so don't have that many. UK prices are just ridiculous. Girls can get loads of stuff for under 100... i can only get a couple of T shirts.

My favourite brands would be:

Diesel
FCUK (their stuff has gone downhill a bit recently)
Levi's Classics Range
Bench
G Star
D&G
Dior (just sunglasses, everything else is outta my price range :p)

Oooh, Ambercrombie rocks. :rocker2:
