Anybody else have to study the next weeks for the midterms?

If so, come and tell us all about it in this thread and let us support eachother cuz sometimes it's kinda ... uhm... studying is kinda tireing certainly while the Holidays :unsure:

I assume you're in America - what are mid-terms. Hasent your year finished. You start a new one next year, I dont get what midterms are - you have exams at the end of the year and then you move on, right?

They are exams half way through the University/College/School year.

no. but I have tons of work to do while most people at my work are taking holidays, so I'm with you in spirit. :smooch:

riiight, that's kinda stupid really, a year starts in late January - finishes in early December - and that's it - why is it draged to another year.

Nope, university/college/school year starts around september here. We have terms/semesters. The first term/semester finishes in December. Then the next term/semester starts in Jan which is when exams are sometimes. This is not properly half way through the year but you get the idea.

Year is in reference to school/university year (from Sept/Oct to June/July/August) rather than the general use of the term year (Jan to Dec)

No I'm from Belgium actually ;) We get exams after the Christmass Holidays (mid-terms) and we get exams at the end of the academic-year in June (Finals) based on those exams you'll be either given the green light to pass your year or they'll invite you for a second chance in August :)

I have an exam at uni in January, a mid-term test in February, a paper due in March. But I have all of my exams, bar one in January, in May and June and if I don't pass them then, I have them in September.

Oh OK I get it now - well all I have to to is just chose my 8 subjects for next year (next week) and that's all - ahh life in Australia so simple so easy. :)

Not mid-terms as such but I've got 4 essays to do for Feb 1st, and 2 exams right at the end of January! Poo. :(

I have 5 exams coming up (16-20 January):
* ICT (information and communications technology)
* essay translation (German)
* text revision (Dutch)
* English history
* English literatures

I have 3 A2 Level exams. I'm starting to panick. I got 70%, 64%, and 53% and need get 90/100% in these ones coming up to average me out for overall A's.

I have Biology, Chemistry and 2 Geography. The science ones worry me the most... but they are like towards the end of Jan, thank god.

Well...to be honest i have to study for my exam in the history of the social communication, English test, sociology, political geography...and I have to write 3 essays for the subject called 'the culture of spoken and written language' but I simply...DON"T WANNA (I'm too lazy :) )

Nope...In my country we have midterms in january/february (and it all depends on school/uni), but you can pass your exams when you want it (of course before the date which your teacher/lecturer gives you). In that way i already passed one exam :) But unfortunately 3 left :(
