As much as I like the Chinese pair I think the NED will win 2-1.

Krajcek def Peng 63 64
Wessels def Pung 62 76
Peng/Pung def Krajcek/Wessels 75 36 10/7

I think it will be an easy 3-0 for The Netherlands, which is also what I hope.

Krajicek/Wessels were pretty good in doubles last year.
I don't see Peng/Pung winning the doubles when it comes down to it...

Wessels will beat the Chinese male player for sure. So, Neds will take the tie without ANY doubt in my mind.

Misa vs. Peng is a great match-up though.

Peter should convincingly beat PENG, and I think Peter and Misa's past doubles experience should be enough to get them over the line.... that makes it 2-0 Holland.

I reckon Misa and Shuai will be close... so either 2-1 or 3-0 Holland.

So the general consensus is Holland?

So the general consensus is Holland?

Looks that way... everyone things Wessels will def. Peng Sun in singles and help def. in the doubles too. I don't know a thing about either male so couldn't say, but Peng Shuai should be stronger than Krajicelk.

So it comes down to the males' perfromance seemingly. (At least that's what I gather...still learning about this event.)

Shuai Peng is not stronger than Michaella Krajicek, only more experienced.
But the surface will be in Krajicek's advantage, so I think it will be a close match with Krajicek winning in three.

No H2H so checked YER.
Your reasoning for thinking otherwise? I'm open to it.

I do not think otherwise.
I only got the feeling you only based your prediction on the rankings. That's a silly thing to do if you ask me.

I think this match can go either way. Peng is the more experienced one, and has had some very, very descent wins. But Krajicek is a serious up and comer.

Anyway, the Neds won't lose mens singles, and sure as hell won't lose mixed doubles.

I don't mean to be petty, but wonder why you are singling this out and calling someone "silly". I only said "Peng should be stronger". Here we have:
H2H - <->
YER - Peng (by a lot)
"experience" - Peng
"decent wins" - Peng
"serious up and comer" - Krajicek
surface - Krajicek (?)

It was enough for me to make a prediction, and on the other matches where I had not enough info, I made no prediction (see original post). I also took the time to review the available stats first. It's not way out there, as there are about 50%/50% predictions on this match in the thread. It's just a guess and apparently we are going to have a good match either way!

So just wondering why you feel the need to call me out.

Anyway, just makes me look forward to it even more, with all the discussion.

My initial thought was Krajicek and i'm leaning that way.
But Peng will know China's hopes depend on her winning so she'll have a little extra to play for.
Krajicek in 3 for mine... 6-3, 3-6, 6-3
I haven't seen Sun play but i would assume Wessels will win comfortably.

I think Netherlands will take it. Not sure though on the score since not much is known about Peng Sun...2-1 maybe.
