- Kim Clijsters
- Amélie Mauresmo
- Venus Williams
- Serena Williams
- Patty Schnyder
- Fransesca Schiavone

Probably next players will be added to that list

finally attain her "golden" racquet
with an outstanding field of competition.

Venus stated that She has a cunning plan for that Diamond Racquet. I think it has to do with Serena in the Field.

Justine won't play Antwerp. It doesn't fit in her schedule. She doesn't want to come all the way back to Belgium, just to play one (indoor) tournament.
It's a pity because she has a lot of fans who would love to see her play on her home soil in stead of watching her on tv.
But she has some issues with Bob Verbeeck, the organisator of the Diamond Games. (Although I thought they had solved their problems)

it would be really interesting indeed if all expected players will play eventually...

Imagine, Serena Williams can't defend most of her points of the Australian Open, so there's a very small chance she will be seeded among the first eight at the Proximus Diamond Games in Antwerp...

This means, that a second round match between Kim and Serena Williams would be possible... ;);)

Go Kimmie! ;)

This should be fun. Venus wins the Oz and then goes to Antrewp and gets herself a diamond racquet. Sounds like a good deal. Yeah, um Kim won't beat any power players on that surface. Momo got lucky last year and she is easily rushed on a court that fast. Pierce could do damage, but she's slow so if you get the ball out of strike zone or out of the middle of the court, say good bye Pierce. Yeah Venus and Serena should dominate this tournament. Sorry folks!! The only thing that could change that is the line-calls (um, yeah those Belgain line judges cheated Venus a lot last year on at least 5-6 calls).

My prediction:

Venus Williams def. Serena Williams (given they're on opposite halves)

6-4 6-4

If the sisters are on the same side then,...

Venus def. whomever 6-3 6-2

I think Antwerp tickets are TOO MUCH expensive !

It's really unbilievable, and the ambiance is not a good one ... A big and cold stadium, which is often empty (except whe Kim is playing) ...

In france (open gaz de france), tickets cost 26 € (even for the final), the stadium is pink and purple and it adds a really good atmosphere ...

That's all !!

Then, Antwerp field is impressive, for the moment ... Injuries will probably kill the draw !

There's no atmosphere during the quallies and first 2 days because the stadium is too big. But the other days (especially SF and F) are always packed and creates an atmosphere other tournaments dream of.

But I agree on the tickets: quallies should be free and the other days should be less expensive :(

* For the last WC they'll try to get either Hingis, Seles, Dokic or Capriati

I have a question. Did the radar guns in Antrewp last year seem a bit too slow. It seemed like Venus was hitting her serve harder than the machine was giving her credit for. I mean Venus wasn't serving 120 mph serves in that tournament, but she was serving faster than 178 kph and that was like the fastest serve that came out of the machine. The radars were placed lower due to the backdrops, did that have any effect on the speeds that were registered?

Maybe Hasselt hasn't a good atmosphere, but Antwerp always gets many compliments by members of the WTA-staff en all players say it's one of the best organised tournaments of the tour...

And if you dare to say there's no atmospere in Antwerp, I doubt you've ever been there...

ouch! "a form" wich last only few months before she get injured or decide to make another thing but tennis.

You have to see reality,if venus loose in 3 sets its not because she was not "in form" the reason is that her opponent was better and thats all.

So every time venus lost this year,it was because she wasnt in form??Be serious lol.Clijsters(2 times at Stanford, and US oPEN),Sharapova(Miami),Mauresmo(Antwerp),Molik(OA)

as for the Slam: dont worry she will get it,I can bet on it.
