Which of the new rising WTA stars do you think have the most promise? (Personally, I think Vaidisova has shown incredible talent)

it's not that it's boring - but saying "i think vaidisova is talented and promising" is a bit of an underestemate.
even saying Paszek is a bright player would be old news, ditto ayumi marrita, vania king and alexa glatch.
the intresting thing is when you hear of a new girl that is really young and great.
I've been trying to put my hands on some information regarding girls born in 1993, but at the moment, only 92 girls can be ranked.

anyway - it's a bit of a pointless thread considering there are so much threads that deal with the topic with much more entusiasm and statistics that actually show something other than "hmm! i think this or that player is promising!"

young tennis players to me means juniors and i think there are a few coming up like azarenka, king who are gonna be amongst the top in a few years

Fine, then I won't say "hmm!". I don't think Vaidisova is "promising for winning some tier IV tournaments." That is not what I am saying. Honestly, I don't think Paszek is a contender for the Australian Open title. Vaidisova had improved tons just recently over the end of the 2005 season, going on a huge winning streak only to lose to Mauresmo in the semi's of Adavanta. She was incredibly impressive in that match, and Mauresmo won because she played some of her best tennis. She has promise to be a top 10 player, as her game mimicks that of Sharapova's.

agree on that list with 99% but Saidkhodjaeva and Curtis. Dont think they are that promising

My bets are Yera Campos from Spain (1990) and Michelle Larcher de Brito from Portugal (1993)

Alexa said that she wants Venus to coach her if she ever retires. I talked to her at the open, she was rushing to watch her idol Venus match v.s. Kirilenko.

Sacha Jones is the most talented New Zealander ever to come out of this country in my opinion. She has played three pro tourneys in her career, all this year, all 25k's and she came thru the qualies in each tourney without dropping a set. She made the second round twice, loosing to Lauren Bradmore 16 63 75, in her second tourney, who accually won the tourney, in temps over 35dc!She has never played in that sort of temp before.

She has a big future ahead. She is 15 years old, so I think she will still be at school next year. If she played a full calender next year, she would finish the year in the top 200. Big, big future.

You've forgotten Caroline Wozniacki (90) Denmark who is probably one of the most promising of them all. A lot of those players are good, but few have top 20 potential.

I think Vaidisova is huge, and i like her alot - but guessing her out as a promising girls is pointless. she reached the AOopenjunior04 final, and ever since she's been leathal. you're a bit late on pointing her out as something huge to be.
