Don't bother clicking the link if u can't speak spanish lol.

Thanks to Nikolas (QuicKyMonSter) for translating it for me  I barely understood a word...Catalina is named as an ambassador for Colombia, alongside Juans & Shakira and has made Colombian tennis look better. She mentions the Colombian president and how he has improved Colombia's problems and that it's not an easy country to govern. She says that she's really happy with her 2005 season and everything was positive- rising from #120 to #55. Her goal at the start of the year was to reach the top 50, and because it's near, she says she reached it.
Q.Where did you fail?
Cata: I could've gone further at Roland Garros or in other tournaments like in Morocco, Turkey and Stockholm...tournaments where I thought I could have done better.
Q. It seems you made an improvement with your technic pg (trainer), but, what do you thing was the key factor which pushed you to the women's tour?
Cata: He (my trainer) focused very much on my game and my results. He helped a lot, he changed some things in my game...like the serve and the mobility on court, two things that are important when it comes to winnning matches and to rise in the rankings.
Q.You used to not give importance to your serve...now you've improved it and it's been crucial to play matches against the "better" players.
Cata: That's right. I used to see it like just a part of the game, but not like a gun. I must thank this to Pablo (trainer), as well as having exploited my physical aspects to have a huge mobility on the court.
Q.Which was the most rewarding match of the year?
Cata: lots of matches made me go bananas. i could stick out the victories over gisela dulko, paola suarez and patty schnyder.both in miami. but in general i feel really satisfied in tennis everything is different. every game is ...... you don't win or lose in the same way. (i don't get what she means). Even if i beat someone like 61 62 (what on the paper says) i feel content. beating paola was exciting. there are moments in which everything goes well and that was one of those
Q.And the worst moment?
When i played Serena Williams (US Open 2R). I think I could've done a better job and even beaten her. It was a pleasant match but technically really bad. (before that match I actually thought she could win that too :tape: )
Q.The retirement of Fabiola leaves you as the Colombia-flag-holder. Do you feel the pressure of having the obligation of doing well in the such a difficult tour?
Cata: No. we all work do become our country's number one. I always wanted to and now i'm happy. It's a big responsibility but I mustn't start to think that the world came over me.
Q.Next year you'll be quite busy... are you playing for Colombia's Fed Cup team?
I don't know about the Fed Cup. I have to talk to the federation, but i'd like to because i love all things where i have to represent my country.
Q.Talking about the country...how do you see the present situation?
Very good. When I travel I see that people have another image of Colombia. President Uribe has done a good job in recovering the country. We've improved, though the problems. We have to say that this is not a country which you can easily govern, but in general terms it's changed a lot.
Q.Would you vote for the re-election of uribe?
Yeah, without thinking it twice. For what he's done, i'm happy. That thing of bringing a country its peace back is a really complicated challenge, talking about guerrillas, paramilitars, and drug trafficers and his ideas are working.
Q.You, with juanes and shakira are the country's representants....musically, whom do you prefer: juanes or shakira?
They both are two artists at world level... I love juanes as a person and how he gives it all for his public. And shakira is another thing, she's been able to take the music to lots of countries in the world. In Japan, for example, i found it funny to hear her music on a few radio stations.
Q.Christmas is coming and, to a person as religious as you, what does this time of the year mean?
Christmas makes me think of beatiful things. xmas is a word which says to me dinner at home, stories, lights, having fun and remembering Jesus Christ's birth.

She seems one of the most intelligent girls on the tour!

no offense but i remember that us open match and all the girl was doing was keeping the ball in play and waiting for Serena to hit a winner or make a mistake.....but she can think whatever she wants I guess :tape: ;)

B-Please, Serena was serving your ass off the court the whole match. You don't almost beat someone losing 2-6 2-6

I dont even remember that match. :o

I do remember her match with Venus @ Miami tho, and she could have done better in the third set of that match.
