But no male tennis players! Now that puts a whole new slant on equal pay in tennis! I'm surpised at least one of Federer, Roddick or Nadal isn't there - unless i read it wrong!

Yahoo has a different list -

In the sports category of searches, NFL scored highest, just ahead of NASCAR and Major League Baseball. Tennis pro Anna Kournikova and auto racer Danica Patrick were the only humans cracking the Top 10, which consisted more typically of sports leagues and teams.

It's amazing people still refer to Kournikova as a 'tennis pro'.

This quote means Anna will be on this list for a long time -

The list "shows us that people are fixated on the activities of pop culture icons," said Erik Gunther, guru of what Yahoo calls its Buzz Index.

I can't believe Kournikova is still running strong on these lists. She's created quite the persona.

I can't believe Kournikova is still running strong on these lists. She's created quite the persona.

Err, it MAY have something to do with those widespread photos of her yanking down her bikini bottom to check out her crotch; or possibly the photos of her lying on top of Enrique, or baring her butt for his viewing pleasure .... ;)
While the search engine records continue to classify Anna as an athlete, it is her near-naked pics that keep attracting attention. Few actual athletes are going to want to or be able to compete in this field -- Shaq au naturel, anyone? :D
