Iva has a whopping 298 points left to defend by the end of the year. That is approximately the amount of points she earned in Charlseton and Bol alone. This means that, if Iva doesn't play another tournament for the rest of the year, she should still be inside the top 60. Now, assuming she makes, let's say the quarters of Berlin and Rome, she should be inside the top twenty and WILL BE SEEDED for RG because Davenport and Tauziat aren't playing and are both ranked ahead of her.

Iva will be seeded at RG cause there are 32 seeds. :)
Problem is, some grls did very well at Berlin, so Iva dropped out of top 30 again. :( She's gonna be 31 after the tourney. She needs to do well in Rome to seal the seed in RG...

She'll get it ;)
Im expecting a great year

She'll get the seed, the top 34 at least will be seeded as Davenport and Tauziat aren't playing. I suspect Iva can handle most things which the RG draw can throw at her though... :bounce:

Now we have to hope Iva'll get a seed. :(
Does anyone know why she's not playing Rome? It's the third big clay event she skipped ina row. :( (Granted, Hamburg/Bol was a good decision)

Iva's 90% likely for the seed. Of those beneath her who have even a half-chance of getting enough points to overtake her, there's only really Sugiyama and Grande (Schiavone has lots of points to defend). I doubt she'll even move down the rankings.
Still, as someone pointed out to me, it's better to be a non-seed and get e.g. Tammy T or Stevenson in round 1 than to be a seed and get Mary Pierce or Paola Suarez or Magui Serna or Conchita Martinez...

that's true, but as a non-seed, iva could have to face hingis, capriati, the william's sisters, or the belgian babes in the first round...

True... although I have good memories of Iva v Martina at Roland Garros :hearts:
Anyone know if the #29-32 seeds definitely get #1-4 in the third round? Cos Iva's probably going to be #29. Which means she might get Venus/Jennifer/Serena/Kim in round 3, which is a Very Bad Thing :fiery: although, thinking about it, probably better than getting Justine/Monica/Amelie. Oh fuck it, we need the damn draw :fiery: stress, stress, stress

Well after the weird and sad events that got reported today (Martina and Venus), Iva will either be #27 or #28, depending on whether Venus can play. Either way, she escapes the first four seeds, if what satrista suspects is right.
What I'm worried about is three weeks of no playing. :( I really hope she's practicing and getting ready to take her second GS. ;)
UPDATE: Sugyama(sp) just passed Iva. :fiery: So Iva will be #28 or #29. Most likely the latter.
