Tamira (#366) who just turned 15 in December, defeated Elena Baltcha (#131) 60 76 in the 2nd round of the 50000$ event of Bergamo.
She faces Ekatarina Bychkova (#69) next. Predicitions?

Unfortunately that was a while back. To be honest I thought Paszek would beat Baltacha.

I've seen Baltacha play great matches...I don't know how she's doing so horribly now...

Well, she's definitely got talent, but honestly, the British no.1 losing to a fifteen year old?:o

Maybe someone can get Peng to defect. We've got money. And not many players to spend it on :tape:

I just don't understand Baltacha...I've seen her play so well over the past couple of years and then have long lapses.

She seems to have a complete game but is riddled with unforced errors - Is there any hope for her?

I think she needs to relax and be able to enjoy herself again...before the AO she was British No.2 and still kind of coming back from her liver problems. One tournament later and suddenly she's at a career high, with all the pressure and expectations. She's been way ahead of the rest of the Brits for most of the year now, she needs someone to step it up and join her. Anne looked like she might be finding her form again, but she's really done nothing since Lagos/Quebec.

are you not forgetting a so called nicole vaidisova was winning wta tournaments at 15. so if a player has talent even at 15 it's possible they could beat someone ranked outsid the top 100, i'm sure if elena was playing wel though that this result would have been different. but 15 year olds can beat good players.
