I don't think she will play Istanbul or Doha

Instanbul would be great though, a nice chance for a first clay title

I still think it's too many tournaments, she sould really drop 2 or 3 from that list

Yeah she had a preyy similar schedule this year and didnt play anywhere near as may as she wanted not thanks to the injusy. I dont think Doha is a good choice, she needs that week off before IW and Miami otherwise thats 6 weeks in a row of play and thats way too much, i do like the rest she has given herself after that when she can ret and celebrate her Birthday and do all her sponsor stuff and Modelling.

If I were Maria I would drop Doha for sure, San Diego, but I guess she was 'promised' by someone there, and Zurich, when you put those out it's perfect

Yeah but she was sick

I hate that word, promised, like she isn't a human, like she's a product, that's why I wouldn't go back to San Diego, but I guess that's the downside to a career like this

Yea I dont know about Instanbul or Doha (though there are pts to defend at the latter)...dont really like the look of Filderstadt/Moscow/Zurich in a row either though good to see Moscow again...I spose Maria will see how it goes. Having Madrid on the schedule already shows a bit confidence too doesnt it  ;)

...and yea Maria was 'promised' to San Diego by Larry too

BTW how can Nouf confirm this is correct?

Yeah my same exact ques...where did nouf get this? and like i said in gm, i'd drop doha too...also either beijing or stuttgart (wta lists it as stuttgart and not filderstadt)...but she probably wants to do better in Moscow...

Istanbul on the other hand may do her good...I dunno...I think she needs to be playing on clay constantly to do well in RG...its a new strategy they are trying I guess...no harm in testing it...

and was she really "promised" to San Diego? haha...how'd you guys know?

and was she really "promised" to San Diego? haha...how'd you guys know? The main problem Istanbul creates is that Maria would have to play up to 5 weeks straight before she gets a week off after Birmingham (possibly after a Fed Cup tie too)...not ideal esp leading up to her favourite tournament. Theres 6 weeks straight from Dubai too

..and yea after Maria withdrew from San Diego this year the tournament organisor had a big whinge because they were missing out on Maria playing (and therefore the $$$) so Larry Scott basically said 'we will deliver Sharapova to you next year' in those words , nice way to talk about your #1 money earner

After her problems this year Maria really needs to set a schedule that suits her and not necessarily everyone else

I got ya but as of now, it's really considered a miracle for Maria to get to the semis let alone the finals of RG. And I think she's always excited to play on grass so that could offset the potential exhaustion...haha...I have a question though...why such a short grass schedule? they should have more grass tourneys...even maybe a week more...seems unfair...

and like I said drop doha to solve the 6 straight weeks from dubai...i think she will though...

:haha: at what Larry Scott said...'We will deliver Sharapova to you next year'...:tape:...what is Maria? some prostitute? Coz he is sure sounding like a pimp!...is there an article wherein he says this? this is just sooo funny...

Yea the length of grass season is a pretty big talking point on here...bring it up in GM and youll be sure to get a few pages  ...most Maria fans would agree its a great time of the year  and would be better to move RG 2 or 3 weeks earlier and shorten the clay season to allow for a longer grass season :D

Larry :smash: :p somewhere in here should be an article with those quotes in it, maybe the articles thread or the thread for San Diego on page 2 probably

I can't believe for a second that Maria's gonna play Istanbul. I think she would benefit from a rest berore RG, especially as it looks like she'll play Fed cup as well.

Maria Croft

But this isn't official right?! I mean, not the second part at least, and the first part I saw before didn't have Doha or Istanbul on it, and was only until Roland Garros

Yea itll always be open to change depending on how Maria's going, Instanbul wasnt included on Maria's original schedule up to RG

I doubt the accuracy of the schedule on the Palmolive site

We will jusy have to wait and see im sure Masha will not play all of those tournaments but the majority seem just about right.

I agree, the schedule that Summon originally posted seems more plausible.
