Nicole Vaidisova is a very promising young Czech player. Can she continue on her excellent career to the top?

Where will she finish in 2006?

Thus far she has been avoinding bigger tournaments playing (and wiining) smaller Tier tournaments - she hasn't beaten a big player in 2005.

Depends on draws, form (injuries) of top players ... i just don't see her in top 10 at the moment but could jump in if top players are injured.

For a small country a lot of top players have and still come from Czechoslovakia/ the Czech Republic.

I'm going to say 5-9 for 2006. I definitely think she will be #1 though in the future.

5-9
the best she did in a slam was 4th round at USO, but in every slam she lost to good players. With better seedings next year she'll get some good draws that have her reaching the 4th round at most slams before having to beat a top seed (she faced Davenport in the 3rd round at AO this year, Schiavonne 2nd round at the FO, Kuznetsova 3rd round at W, and Petrova 4th rnd at USO). She'll probably get hot in a least one slam and make it deep to some Finals and Semifinals.
This assuming she doesn't hit a slump like Golovin did this year and end up the year with a ranking almost exactly like she has now. But I doubt thats gonna happen since Vaidisova has more weapons than Golovin and doesn't have to work as hard as her to win matches, decreasing the likelyhood of a slump.

Vaidasova or however u spell her name is OVER-RATED. I can't believe people are picking her for top 5. Who in the ham-sandwich is she gonna replace?

Top somewhere between 10-20 is where she'll be.

She can reach the top ten at the begining of the year if she keeps playing like she did in 2005, but I think she will finish the season in the top 20.

Well so far she has climbed the rankings quicker that Sharapova at her age and IF she continues to do so, she WILL be a top 5 player by the end of 2006.

However I predict she might crack the top 10 in 2006, at least momentarely. I also predict she will win a Tier I in 2006, but not a Slam like Masha did.

Nicole is not over-rated. She is a huge talent. She knows how to win. And she has a really big weapon with that serve which puts a lot of pressure on her opponents.

And where are you getting this idea that people are picking her for top 5 next year. Only 4 votes are for top 2-4. Noone is picking her for #1. Are you seriously saying you are surprised that 4% of voters have gone out on a limb and voted her to be 2-4 next year. I definitely think she'll make top 10 next year - in common with 40% voters here.

But after say 2 years - she could well be in contention for the #1 spot. Now if you ask - Who in the ham-sandwich is she gonna replace in 2 years time? Well for starters Lindsay, Mary, Kim will have retired after 2 years. Maybe the sisters will have retired as well - but anyway they aren't the force they used to be anymore. And there's a huge doubt about Justine's health.

shes still to young give her a year next year she wil;l stay around the same ranking.she choked to reach the quarters at the uo against petrova 5-2 up i think she couldve played sharapova next. she needs to get mentally stronger and win a big tourney. next year will be between 15-20
