I wonder if this is a bad sign. I hope not. Perhaps she'll just wait and take a wildcard later, but it's still distressing for this J-Cap fan. I just don't want her to miss the AO three years in a row. Come on Jen, when are you coming back?!

It's ok guys, she will be back. Just be optimistic. She will probably take a wild card because didn't she do that last year when she was coming back? I don't know, i can't remember. I just know that she will be back and we will be some happy fans soon enough!! :)

I would love to see her back, but if she's not ready.. its better she skips the AO.. its so early in the year.. she can come back a bit later and more in the heart of the season and it would be a shorter overall season for her, and that will probably help..

I miss her fiery spirit too!

It is still early for entry committments, so I dont think we should stress just yet....

Plus, the 1 piece of news we got last week is very encouraging....

Jen applied for, and was granted by the WTA, a protected injury ranking as well as Gold Status..... which both mean she can get into any tournament she wants.

To me, that is an indicator that she is planning her return in Australia.....

I donīt know why but reading she applied for gold status makes me feel good, proud of her, iīm having an instant flashback to the finals of the aussies and roland garros she won...

no worries people jen has a tendency to commit to tourneys pretty late and i am 100% positive she will be at the ao

She never really did well in the warmup events before, so maybe shes just skipping those to train instead.

I hope she's OK. To be honest I have a feeling she'll never play again. I hope not though.

She would not be training (a.k.a Mary joe told us), or applied for injury protected ranking if she did not plan to return.
Maybe she is waiting a bit to keep it suspensful and wants the Hingis buzz to die down a little ;)

Even i have the same feel coz she was one of the prime contributors to HINGIS' early retirement!!! Atleast now shes back she really should fulfill her promise of defeating Jcap which she made at Aus open 2002.

Charles Brickner (sp??) from the Florida Sun -Sentinal responded to an e-mail stating that Jen is training and practicing at Saddlebrook as well as West Palm (where her Mom lives) and is 50/50 for the Aussie Open.......
