It's more likely that not one person will dominate next year. However, we'll still see the same 8 players contend for the slams and the most important titles. Hingis can probably be added to the list by the end of next season but that's dependent on how she plays in the first few months. As a fan, I'd want to see Maria though take her capacity for domination seriously in 2006.

I don't think anyone will dominate.

Maybe Kim at smaller tournaments. In slams where everybody plays, it will be hard for anyone to dominate. I'd bet for 3 or 4 different winners

i don't think anyone will really dominate...i would like to see Venus destroyin everybody and their mamas, but in a way, this is good not to know who will win among the top in advance.

Serena is the only active player that has shown she has the potential to actually dominate the tour...and don't even bring kim and juju in this discussion...juju never dominated when Serena was playing..point blank

No one will dominate, but a few newcomers will do very well. Nicole Vaidisova and Anna-Lena Groenefeld. And maybe Michaella Krajicek.

We can speak of her domination for 14 months when she won 5 grand slams (French Open 2002 to Wimbledon 2003). However, before and after this period she has not dominated and probably not even been the best player.

There is no current evidence that she can dominate again. The great fact about tennis is the future will determine the facts; maybe she will dominate again.

A great players achievement, on this matter, Justine's domination FO 03- IW 04, doesn't weight less because one or two of the top players were missing.

i don't think rena can peak again in one year. 2007 might be the year of rena, but i'm just hoping for her to win a slam and a few tier 1's and get back into the top 5. i think that's best goal we can ask for. i don't think henin will win anything major though.

The grand slams are televised, so she must want to get as far as possible! Wow you think she's going to win the grand slam next year? :D

i AM happy though because we will see more than lindsay and kim on tv (i love them, but i'm not really excited to see their matches all the time)

you say that like Serena was just any top player who left the tour...Serena was THE top player...she had won 5 of the last 6 slams including a beatdown of 6-3 6-2 over henin-hardenne in their last match...the belgians only got to number 1 when Serena left the game....sorry but its a fact...and the Steffi comparison is pointless...Serena and Steffi were never both playing when they were at their peaks

I'm kind of hoping we'll have a 2-Slam winner, or maybe Kim winning the AO right after her first Slam, or at least any of the past 7 Slam-winners (which have all been different) win another Slam! Justine is the only one to have won more than 1 Slam in the past 2 years (she also owns 3 of the past 9 Slams and 4 of the past 11, which actually pretty much makes her the most dominant player of the past 3 years). But I adore the competition, don't get me wrong ;) It's just that it's nice to see someone (or a few players) - be it marginally - come out on top.
