Conchita Martinez- Retired or not?

Martinez talked about contemplating retirement in LA. Has there been any confirmation of that yet?



Farina, Maleeva, Zuluaga & Callens are the only retirements confirmed.

Lindsay Lee waters and Alicia are taking a break.

With the Gold Coast and Auckland entry lists out, it would seem Vento is playing 1 more year (despite saying it would be her last visit to OZ in the 05 events)

It also looks like Paola is back (yeah!!!!!) ridding us of rumours of her future.

I think that leaves Conchi as 1 of the only ones still yet to comment on there future. Anyone have any news?

I guess Janette Husarova is another one to consider.

I also wonder if Perebynis, Marrero, Senoglu, Mamic, Mikalian will come back soon or even in OZ and if Tara and Iroda and Chanda & Schwartz will use injury ranks (or if they have valid ones) to return in OZ

I will be pissed off if she does retire.

I thought it was bad enough losing Maggie and Fabi and with Iroda, Perebiynis, Marrero, Senoglu, Paola and Rossana not playing....all my players are dying off. :bigcry: :hysteric:

Paola is playing for one more year. She will retire by the end of 2006.

I whish they would give Akgul & Iroda a WC for doubles. It would be great to see Iroda's name back on a GS Main Draw.

And as for Vento-Kabchi, I was pretty sure she had retired. Oh well. Good for her.

Conchita just needs to stick playing...She's still got it in her.

Marrero will be back next year, she was just taking a break to refresh herself ;)
