Think about it. We always had domination by either the Williams or the Belgians and for a short time the Russians. Now everyone is healthy/almost healthy and play at the same time.
Let's have a look:
The Williams in full force are always exciting. Serena will refuse to have such a dissappointing year as this year. Venus is full of confidence after winning Wimbledon and a relatively good U.S Open.
Kim will be fine after her break and has proven herself to be able to win slams. Justine had a long break which should have done her good. She will definitely be hunting at another RG.
Lindsay Davenport and Mary Pierce are still healthy and will be even more eager for a slam after coming so close this year. Maria Sharapova is going to be a consistent threat ofcourse. After a dreadful YEC, she will get revenge next yera. Amelie is full of confidence after a terrific YEC.
Myskina, Kuznetsova, Dementieva, Bovina, Zvonareva will shake 2005 off and may cause tons of upsets. Let's not forget youngsters like Nicole V and Ana I who have established themselves this year but will really challenge the top players next year. My surprise pick is Misa Krajicek. She will defeat all the journeywomen and prove that she is a part of future's womens tennis.
Last but not least, Capriati and Hingis will try to regain to past glory. So many old and new rivalries are coming!
Has womens tennis ever been so interesting this decade? Me thinks not :wavey:
