Round 1...Ludmilla Cervanova...ranked 100ish...piece of cake?? Should be :p

But Iva's Fed Cup performance...:fiery: :o

GO IVA GO! Put all that pressure of performing in front of your home crowd behind you and focus and hit those lines! You have an excellent chance of winning here and firmly entrenching yourself in the Top 30 again :)

Just Do It!!! :D

Here's what the report at www.tennisnews.com had to say about Iva... seems they're pretty much spot on. It all depends whether Fed Cup was a fluke or not - hopefully it was, as by all accounts Iva was excellent in the doubles match - even at the net .
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Iva Majoli, the #4 seed, is on the best roll of her post-1997 career. Her win at Charleston hardly needs mention. But she threw in a terrible clunk of a loss in Fed Cup, losing to Iveta Benesova in straight sets. That looks very much like the Majoli of the last few years: One good day, one (or two or three or ninety) bad. Majoli at her best is the best clay player in this draw. Can she play her best for five matches? Her first match won't be too bad; she'll be against Ludmila Cervanova (though Cervanova likes clay). The second round will pit her against Sandra Kleinova (who shouldn't pose much challenge) or Tatiana Poutchek (who is having a pretty good year, so she might be a problem). These are matches Majoli should win. But she's lost a lot of matches she should win, these past four years....

I was watching short parts of Fed Cup matches today and Iva was playing totally different tennis then she did in Charleston.

She wasn't moving well, but she played pretty good in doubles match with Jelena. :)

It should be plus for Iva playing in front of the home crowd, but probably it's not.

Nice to see Iva overcome her hometown jitters. Hopefully this win will give her confidence for the rest of the tourney.

Just win dammit!

As you all know Jelena Kostanic is next...she is playing quite well at the moment and Iva certainly has her hands full.

These two played here 3 years ago in the second round (back when Iva's injury was quite bad) and Jelena won 6-2 7-5.

I expect Jelena to come out with all guns blazing, but I am confident Iva will safely make it through this time :)

GO IVA!

Terry, It's a shame they have to meet so early. :(

But Iva's first round win should help her relax enough to get through this although it won't be easy.

GO IVA!!! :D

What a thriller! Iva takes on young Russian Vera Zvonareva in the QF. I really like Vera, she definately is a future star! She'll be out for revenge after Iva beat her 7-5 in the 3rd in Miami...should be a cracker! If Iva gets thru this she should make it through to the final as the other QF pits Mariana Diaz-Oliva (last years finalist) versus that house hold name Libuse Prusova, a Czech qualifier.

Come on Iva! Grab this opportunity!

Ed, you're right, its a shame they had to meet so early :( Poor Jelena must be bitterly disappointed at that loss considering she looked the goods to take it out. She is a lovely girl and Im sure we'll see more of her this year! Well done Jelena on a fine effort!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: yay Iva, the 8-match winning streak (on the WTA Tour) continues :bounce:
They're slightly too hard-fought for comfort though, I don't get the impression she's playing at her Charleston level... I really like Vera as well so I won't be too angry at her if she wins, but it's not something I could predict. But the winner will most likely reach the final.

If it's an Iva v Elena D final I may have to commit the ultimate Diva sin and cheer for Elena... I love her too, and she needs that first title so desperately

Nice to see Iva giving all you guys something to cheer about again! Hopefully she can win this title and keep heading for the top 20 where she belongs.
I'm always happy to see her doing well. Now if only another certain Croatian could take inspiration from her:sad:

Finally got in here! I fucking hate Hingis/Williams obsessives who clog up the board to follow scores, they really do spoil things for everyone else. Specifically, I had to wait TEN FUCKING MINUTES to get into the Iva/Prusova scores thread, and when I did I found that Iva was behind 6-7 0-3. :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery:

According to hrtsport.hr, Iva saved 3 match points in the second set. She also had 63 winners, but 66 unforced errors (i guess that means that she was in control of the match ;)).

YAY!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I have seriously lost count on how many times Ive almost had an induced coronary at the hands of the Diva...:o 3 match points?

LOL Alex! Show that angst like only you can! :fiery: ;)

Nice to see you in here MirjanaLFan :) Iva turning things around is proof that good things eventually happen...and remember, Mirjana is still 5 years younger than Iva, she has time on her side :)

Good luck in the final Iva  This is yours, just believe!!!

Iva must be exhausted ... Hopefully she will recover soon and be ready for her first round match in Berlin.

But it was quite good tournament for her. She reached the Bol final for the first time ...

Thank you Iva for giving us another great week :)
