Alicia Molik: “Good memories”
Quotes of Alicia Molik, winner of the Zurich Open in 2004

Alicia Molik: “I only have good memories from this place. I really enjoyed myself last year, a lot of success. No doubt it was in the period where I was playing one of the best tennis of my life. For me to come back to a place that I love is fantastic. It’s a new stadium, it very much feels like a new tournament. I already played on the court, it feels the same as last year to me, which is good, especially for me.”

“It’s been a long process getting back, especially because I didn’t win that many matches this year. I had some of the best time in my life earlier this season, but also some really difficult and disappointing now. It’s an interesting mix I think. But I’m quite good in looking forward, picking out the positive things and always look for things that I can do better.”

“In Switzerland I love the people here. I also love the food ant the Swiss milk here. You see there are a lot of positives.”

“Patty (Schnyder) really played a good season especially her consistency during the whole year is great. Last year she really came close to me. We had a very tough match and I think to play tennis in the home country, is always a good thing to get extra energy for the game. The crowd will be behind her, like last year, but I think the Swiss people are very fair as they were last year.”

“To be successful here it takes me a good form, perhaps a little bit of luck, also a lot of patience and I have to stay positive during the whole tournament. The most important thing is, to play the best tennis at the right moment.”

“To really get back to the point where I was last year will take me a lot of wins during a short period and I hope it will happen soon.”
