I have a couple of Hopman Cup questions that I want to know, if you have previously experienced this at a Hopman Cup, any feedback would be greatly appreciated:

1) Do players train on the practice court during night sessions? I am referring to ones like session 5 this year, where only one court is being used. One of my favourite things to do at Hopman Cup is to get autographs of players as they finish on the Practice Court, so I am wondering if they do still train in the early evening? Also, does the 'Autograph Island' operate during night sessions?

2) The teams playing at Hopman Cup XVIII are going to be announced on Tuesday October 11 we all know. Does this mean the draw will be made on that day, ie: who is playing at what session?

Any answers you may have will be much appreciated.

sure! i've been to the last like 10 or 11 Hopman Cups!

1) yes they do practise during the night sessions but not after about 8pm...but definitely before that, you can watch them practise...and it's quite good because most ppl are at the main court watching the women's match so there's like no one at the practice court!

2) can't actually remember...but i seem to recall the scheduling was done a bit later

hope that helps a bit!

Thanks Senorita, I thought that was the case from when I went last yer, but thanks for confirming that for me. Do you know about the 'Autograph Island' at night?

Also, ivanovic, it is done way before that. I remember when I ordered tickets last year, I knew who I was going to see (or did I - come back to that :)). I couldn't remember if it was the same time or a couple of days later. We must wait and see.

Back to who I would see, last year I went to Sessions 1 and 2, I was supposed to watch:
France vs Netherlands
Russia vs Italy

I ended up watching;
Zimbabwe vs Netherlands
Argentina vs Italy

So it is subject to change.
