Found this in the September issue of American Tennis Mag. Please forgive me if you have read it but I'm in Australia and we get US tennis mag a month behind. It has some Lindsay quotes in it which are quite funny. I will only include the Lindsay bit though.

Getting the New York Groove

After talking to a bunch of top players about their view on New York city. Did you know for example. that they've all taken the subway? You'd think with their grand slam lifestyles, it would be taxis and limos all the way. We also discovered that the majority prefer the Yankees over the MEts (exceptions Kim Clijsters and Taylor Dent) here are some of the highlights from our survey.

What the oddest thing you're seen in the City?

Lindsay: My cab driver once fell asleep at a red light and I had to wake him up.

What do you put in your street vendor hotdog?

Lindsay: I'd never eat a hot dog on the street.

What's the one thing you need when you're walking around?

Lindsay: A steely nerve.

The thing you love most about the city?

Lindsay: The sense of excitement

The thing you hate most about the city?

Lindsay: Everyone honks their horns

I can relate to the car horn thing as it is something done alot around my way and it give me the shits as for the sleepy cab driver well just be thankful he wasn't moving at the time. It must have been the year before Lindsay started driving herself around New York.

lol they are funny!

But I thought Lindsay looked like she might like to tuck in to a hot dog now and then....I mean if your American isnt it compulsory you like either hot dogs or pizza!!!! ;)Just kidding....personally i love a bit of ketchup and little bit of mustard on my h.dog......but NO onions!!!!!

I have read the tennis magazine in which they have a number of pages dedicated to an interview with Lindsay. Lindsay is my 3rd favorite behind Jennifer and Mary, the whole interview was very odd to me. She does not sound like a confident person when she should be. She needs to realize that she is a legend in the sport of tennis, with 50 titles and nearing 700 wins! :worship: be proud of yourself Lindsay!

In what way was the interview odd?

As I said in the earlier post, the reason it is odd is because she does not seem confident at all.

Lindsay has confindence its just doesn't blow her own trumpet like the Williams sisters do. Other people do it for her and I don't call it lack of confindence I call it being modest and it one of the reasons I admire her and grace in defeat and many other reasons but they are the main two.

I think that Lindsay is shy and gracious rather than someone who suffers from a lack of confidence. There is so much time for Lindsay because she doesn't look for notice or create any fuss unlike the aforementioned sisters and many other players. This was written about Lindsay after the Wimbledon final - "Davenports contribution was to show us that sportsmanship is alive and well and that grace and manner in a person overcomes all".

Well said. as long as Lindsay and Kim arre around sportmanship will always be alive and well as they are two players who never blow off their opponet when they lose.
