Good question, it all depends in the state they were playing in, if both were playing with good form its a tough one, though I'd give the edge to Monica, the better attacker and those angles, very few knew or know how to counter them. One of the best returners of serve ever so its a tough one.

That's definitely a toughie. Since Monica has been playing exhibitions lately, we can see that she is in good shape. I haven't seen Jen since last year and she hasn't played in forever, so it's impossible to tell with her. Both are question marks so I'll be delightfully biased and go with Monica.

Good question. I think that they would be equal right now, in the current state that poor Jen is in. I think that if Jen was playing the way that she played before the injuries, then this would be a no-brainer. But now, I think I would still go with Jen because Monica hasn't had a competitive match in a while.

Seles 7-5, 6-2

Seles. In my opinion the only thing that Jennifer has over Monica is her movement and that is obviously a much bigger part of how successful Jennifer is than it has anything to do with Monica's game.

Capriati def. Seles 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Ditto! Even a "slow" Seles could beat the likes of an upcoming star in Clijsters back in '01 and '02, shes just such an attacker and she never backs away from her plan, attack attack at any given opportunity.

I bet my house (I only have a small one anyway) that Capariati would win. I think that Cappy now is probably closer to her best than Seles.

The real question is, who would win a match between Betsy Nagelsen and John Evert...

Really I can name at least two players who knew how to counter them and they have a combined h2h over her of 25-10 :hearts:

Monica. Jen has just started training and has been out for more than a year.

Well neither of them played the Seles that Graf had to play. So its a bit unfair to compare, nonetheless Hingis seemed to never be troubled by Monicas angles, she could always come up with better ones or take the ball a little earlier. When she was playing well of course, the 98 french, and those two loses in '01 were pretty pathetic and I am sure Hingis could play a lot better than that on a good day.

I believe Da Forehand was referring to both Hingis and Graf with their combined h2h versus seles which amounted to 25-10 Graf lead 10-5 and Hingis lead 15-5.

Why did you say neither of them had to play the Seles that Graf played if he was talking about Graf in the first place?

At first I thought he was referring to Venus whos only lost once to Seles. However after giving it some thought I realized it couldnt be her and Hingis, the math wouldnt add up. However I was always sure he had included Hingis, in any case I sustain what I said its fair to say that they wouldnt dominate a Seles at her peak.
