Yeah, I had some issues with my encoder.

The picture is way ahead of the sound for me.

Picture quality is pretty good.

Rates of motion are a bit screwed up.

Oops - minor correction. At 1-0 in the second set the sound was actually in sync with the picture for about 5 minutes.

I've watched the 2nd set twice now. It looked pretty clear to me that Yuri Sharapov signaled his daughter to retire at 2-1. I might have done the same thing if I was him. Maria S. was taped in two places: 1) her right pectoral region, and 2) her upper right thigh.

No - I couldn't see any obvious sign of injury except that she was playing far below her level. It wouldn't have done her much good to lose this match (which was going to happen) AND aggravate her injuries further.

The fans were understandably disappointed.

I look forward to the day when we can watch replays like this with the sound in sync with the picture and the motion of the players looking realistic.

The announcers were pretty good with the exception that they were way too afraid to say anything controversial. At least one of them needs to be a little more blunt. I'm sure both of them knew Maria S. was playing below her normal level, but neither ever mentioned it. Also, neither of them commented on the fact that Yuri S. signaled his daughter to retire. They were talking about how the Russians recently won the Fed Cup, but failed to point out that neither of the two Russians on the court were on the Russian Fed Cup team! That's playing it too safe as far as I'm concerned.

Well its clear that at the start of 2nd set there was no injury apparent in any of Maria S's play that was visible to anyone watching.. It was also clear that she was not looking like winning the match, but not due to an injury, but due to the simple fact that she was getting outplayed, which guess what, is a normal thing sometimes!

Yuri S and Maria S have to accept that losing is part of the game. Sometimes you will lose, and when you do, it is becasue your opponent is better than you in that peritcular match. If youre not up to your best, thats your own fault.

Anyone who watches this match and knows anything about Yuri S and Maria S, will know that losing to Kirilenko, another upcoming young Russian, was going to be to much to take, and would not look good for Sharapova. The fact is she could of played on with the match. This "injury" that Maria says "comes and goes" I would suggest "comes and goes" at very convienient times. We know that ther is now huge pressure on Maria S from alot of differnet places to live up to her name of the best young thing in tennis, and if at times she does not do that it looks like it is too much for her and her father to take.

BTW Shooter, you make good points.

Do you have to rename the file extension for it to play?

Do you have to rename the file extension for it to play? No. the filenames ended in .divx when I downloaded them. I played them with RealPlayer, but only after downloading the latest version of RealPlayer(for free). When they gave me the choice of playing them as they downloaded OR downloading them to my computer first, I chose to download to my desktop first. Give that a try if you haven't already.

She didn't quit then.
I have never seen Maria retire from a match, except this one.
