Definitely agree with this point! Very pleasant surprise, and even better than she won't have to face Venus in the next round! ;)

Well done, She has improved so much this year. I saw her play for the first time at Hopman Cup and then didn't get to see her again till against Mauresmo at the US Open, and she had improved heaps.

That top three is still a bit far off for this girl.

Peng is the only one who has beaten Kim on American hardcourt.

Kim has beaten the crap out of everybody, some of those have been real blow-outs. Sharapova, Venus, Davenport, JHH, ...

I have still my doubts about that loss. Was it a strategic loss of Kim ? Just like she did in Toronto in 2003 !

We will see when the next time they meet. If Kim beats the crap out of Peng, we will know that there was something fishy about that loss.

there was nothing fishy about that loss. that doesn't mean that Kim won't beat the crap out of Peng. I am sure she will.

Groenefeld has really come of age. I expect a breakthrough to top 10 in 2006. I also agree that her match against Mauresmo in USO '05 was very impressive even though she lost.

don't expect too much. 2006 will be the really "second" year for her on the tour - the hardest. she has to defend a lot of points. i guess she definately has top 20-material, but top 10 is a long way...

i wish her all the best - she's such a nice person and a very good player but i'd like to see her making her way step by step.

I don't think she's consistent enough for Top 10 (in singles) at this point.

I do think that all of her doubles play has really helped her, though. Winning three titles this year is a big confidence boost! :)

Another good win for ALG!

Maybe she'll make the Final! That would be a real achievement.

Graf is the only good German player. You have no one else in the women's game. :worship:

I agree.

Perhaps Graf should make a come-back when her kids are at school age (in 2009 or so) and win some titles for Germany again. If the Belgians and the Willies are injured or distracted by designing/acting careers maybe she even can steal a slam here and there. She at least should be able to beat the likes of Pierce, Demented and Mauresmo on a regular basis even as a 40-year-old. :worship:
