Now that Maria has shaken the rust from the match against Shahar, this one should be a walk in the park.
Tian Tian def. Lil Maria 76 67 76
Maybe this is wishful thinking since I am not sure how Tian Tian really can stack up against top 50 players that are not injured but she has got to be brimming with confidence after a career win over Serena. If she can follow it up by preventing an all Maria SF, then that will show she is ready for the big time
3 Venus def. Marta 62 64
I have never seen Marta play but I don't think she will put up any resistence to Venus.
Shuai def. 9 Anna-Lena 26 63 75 :bounce:
This will also be a competitive match between two hungry young guns. ALG's serves will be cracking but Shuai is more lethal off the ground. Really can go either way but I am going to stick with Shuai on this one

Lets get the third round matches done first.
But an all Masha semi would be a first!

It's not exactly historic considering we had an all-Maria final at 2002 Pittsburgh Challenger. Perhaps you recognize the names?
Maria Camerin d. Maria Sharapova 7-6 (7-4), 6-2

It's still the third round of the tournament, whether it's the quarterfinal or not.

ahh yes that's surely something to go down in history, right up there with a lot of other things i'd call historic; like the first african american to win a major, or first indian woman to win a wta title etc.

talk about pumping up Masha vs. Masha match... I'm sure they (Mashas) don't think that it's historic.

Go Mighty Masha Sisters. I want to see an all Maria semi final. Good luck to both of you.
