btw, I don't know for sure if Perebiynis maybe will play the next match, but she don't play against Slovenia.

I wonder, who will play for BLR? (Do the best rankt player has to play or can No1 and No 3 or No 4 play)
My guess is Tatiana and Olga will play today, but I "fear" NZ will play Friday ;)

Can Tatiana/Olga in singles and Natasha/? in doubles beat Slovenia? ;)

go Belarus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its supposed to be #1 vs #1 player

but if #2 player plays as #1 then the top ranked player has to miss out.

Salome :) well done girl now doubles will decide :)

I knew she had a good chance :)

Terry.........I'm wondering that myself as well

No Julia at all or Tatiana today
I would have gone for Alyona Bondarenko in the team then instead of Kovalchuk

jeanne, my results Belarus leads 1-0, is from the first match, (second single ? vs ?) If Eleni won, the score now most be 1-1 BLR versus GRE.

Well done Greece! :D

Great to see Eleni playing! She is the only Greek in the top 500 so one wouldnt blame her for not having an interest in playing but she obviously loves to represent her country :) A lot of players should take note! Well done Eleni and girls!

Poland lost AGAIN to Yugoslavia. Last year it was 3-0. Atleat Joanna and Klaudia won in doubles. I cannnot understand why they put Magdalena in the top spot, considering she is coming back from injury, but that is an impressive showing against Jankovic. Too bad for Katia, she won the first set so easily, but stupid Dragana pulled through. ;) I hope Katia can beat Claudine, which will be tough, but I doubt that Magdalena will be able to beat Anne, when Poland plays Luxembourg. Im positive or almost, that Poland can beat Luxembourg in doubles. WE BETTER NOT LOSE TO IPEK AND TURKEY LOL! I LIKE IPEK, BUT POLAND IS WAY MORE TALENTED!

Magda G. will not (if playing) play against Kremer, but against Claudine. all players mention first in the results list, are the Second (#2) player. The best rankt player, playing, has to be #1

Joanna Sakowicz wasn't playing second single for Poland?

Thank you Jorn! That gives me much relief! ;) So Katia Straczy, ranked 319, is Poland's top player. Joanna Sakowicz is no.2, so why would Magdalena play? I love Magdalena and I think her being a veteran (despite coming back from injury) gives her the edge over 16-year-old Sakowicz. BUT, Sakowicz has shown she can compete with top ranked players, pulling Kveta Hrdlichkova to a third-set tiebreaker last year in Warsaw. But her 6-3 6-0 loss last week to Sandra Klemenschitz didn't impress the Polish coaches at all! ;) GO POLAND! So it will be Madzia vs. Claudine (now Magda can win this) and Kremer vs. Straczy (sorry Katia, but Kremer is too good). Claudine is in the top 250 or so, but she has lost to many mediocre players. I like her a lot, but especially after Magda's three set loss to the talented Jankovic, Claudine's vulnerability and inconsistency could result in a Magda win. Coupled with a doubles win for Joanna/Klaudia, Poland could win against Luxembourg! OH I HOPE POLAND WINS!!!!!

LUXEMBOURG DEF. POLAND 3-0  :o

Claudine Schaul (LUX) def. Magdalena Grzybowska (POL) 6-2 7-6(1) :( (I thought Magda could have had this one, guess not :p)

Anne Kremer (LUX) def. Joanna Sakowicz (POL) 6-7(4) 6-1 6-3 (Big surprise for Joanna, I'm so thrilled that she managed to win the first set off a top 30 player!)

Kremer/Schaul (LUX) def. Grzybowska/Jans (POL) 6-3 6-4 (Luxembourg realized they couldn't win with Minella/Francois, so to avoid risk they put their top players in. After all, Minella/Francois' 6-2 6-2 loss to Ozgen/Senoglu of Turkey is not very impressive! ;)
