PERHAPS CARLA IS STILL INJURED:sad:

SHE LOST TO A MEDIOCRE PLAYER:o :o :o

CAPTAIN OF BRAZIL-LUCIANA TELLA SHOULD NOTICE THIS FACT AND PUT MARIA FERNANDA ALVES IN CARLA`S PLACE OR BRAZIL WILL NOT EVEN BEAT INSIGNIFICANT TEAM OF URUGUAY:o

Maria Fernaanda has a lower rank than Joana, but she`s better than her. She had already beaten Cortez 2 times.

ALX!!! Some correction here

Brazil bt. Venezuela 3-0 and not 2-1 as you said :)

A statement from Jojo Cortez:
"I think we played perfect. Our team is very focused and leveled and our matches today were very good. Carla (Tiene) played very loose, hitting the ball very well, and the doubles match with Vanessa (Menga), as usual, was good. I'm excited. Now we have to beat Uruguay, which is a very dangerous team"

It's a pity that we lost today Jojo
Now only if Colombia loses to Brazil we can join the semis :(

Congratulations and good luck Canada :) They haven't been in the world group since 1994, but have been close to getting past qualifying many times in recent years losing out to Argentina a few times, and I think Venezuela once. Hopefully they can get through this time around, Maureen has been playing great this year, she's now at 24-8 in singles this year and not too far away from cracking the top 100 again which is a great sign :)

Keep it up Canada!

I'm still in the dark about the format here. A Canadian article said that the top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs, and the two winning teams from the playoffs advance to a World Group qualifying tie.

If this is the case, there would be no need for a "final" this weekend at all, it would be meaningless.
