She has nice solid groundstrokes...she's a pretty good athlete....taller than many Japanese.....she has a very good backhand, pretty good forehand and a decent sertve. She's solid.

Yep that's her! Hope she ocntinues this success!!! At least we know against Nakamura that another Japanese (With Rika Fujiwara) will be in the second orund for sure!

I really think her scheduling overall needs to improve. She could be ranked so much higher with better scheduling IMO.

First, she needs to play more tournaments and start scheduling better. She's one of the worst schedulers among the Japanese players, IMO. :(

tomoko won her 1strd match in guangzhou! :) she is seeded [8] she has a great shot to make the qf's and beyond! :) she reached a carrer high rank of#246! great if she could make the aussie open qualies! go tomoko! :)

tomoko through winning the 25k itf event in nagoya,has rfecieved a wc into the qualie draw in kolkata! :) :bounce: tomoko had some nice wins here last year and did qualify!i hope she can produce the same form this year! great to see her in some wta tour events! go tomoko! :)

true she hasn't but its still early in the season!:) tomoko plays largely on the itf circuit,so the step up to wta qualie events is new for her,lets hope she can breakthrough likr yurika did last week! go tomoko:)

Tomoko last week won a domestic title in Kyoto... she now moved to 25k Perth where SeanyQ posted
* Tomoko Yonemura wrecked her ankle in yesterdays dub's & is now on crutches!! Replaced in singles by LL-Michelle Brycki.

great week for tomoko:) she has had some injury worries this year so she deserves some good results,she really could be ranked alot higher,maybe little sister akiko's good form has motivated tomoko, hope she can keep going and take out spears:)

I saw Tomoko play Ao qualies,she was very unlucky to loose,she had a set and a 5-4 lead against Soler Espinosa,she lost 4-6 in the 3rd,it was the first time ive seen Tomoko play,i was impressed,i hope she has a great 09.......she will play Pervak in 1strd in Pattaya..good luck tomoko:)

I was wandering round the Wimbledon qualifying event this week and was trying to see the score on Aiko's match on a packed court. I asked a player standing next to me, what the score was and it turned out to be Tomoko!
She is really friendly and has a great sense of humour!:)
She had a good win in the first round but lost in the second but the conditions were really windy.

she went back to japan, and checked her ankle, it wasn't too bad, but she won't be able to play for the next two weeks.
she may not play for the USO Qs this year.

Tomoko made the final of a 25k in Thailand, where she MPs to win the title. :(
However she will be rankedn around #205 next week, which enables her to play in New York. :D

i had wondered where Tomoko was,as i hadn't seen her in any draws,poster in challenger events said Tomoko retired from tennis this march after all japan indoor.....best of luck post tennis Tomoko:)she will be missed on tour.:sad:bye Tomoko:wavey:
