I have wasted 1000s of hours of my life playing the original Minesweeper, and I still love it. Unfortunately, after all these years I have reached such a level of skill that the only way to make it interesting is to put in a stupid number of mines (200).
However, tonight I stumbled across the game's successor: Minesweeper 3D
I have been playing this for 45 minutes and I can already see many more 1000s of hours being wasted. And I'm only on the 5x5x5 grid. Forget having a career, I've found my new calling: I am going to be a Minesweeper slacker.
Tonight, I am truly happy.

I haven't played the built-in grids for years but I think it was something like 9 seconds, 47 seconds, 99 seconds. I kid you not.

I've had a love affair with Minesweeper since before I married, and my wife can tell you how bad.
Anyway, my best times are:
6 seconds (05-4-04)
45 seconds (08-14-03)
Aside for my 6 second best time, I've actually had a much better 'expert' best time in the sub-90s. ;) But since I upgraded my OS I don't know the specific date. :wavey:
I'll check out the 3D version NOW!!!

I got the first one in 3 seconds, which was totally accidental.. I just clicked twice and it was all solved. the second one in 37 seconds. Have a tough time with intermediate, 144 seconds.

I've done the intermediate one in 29 seconds, but I think I can bring that time down a little more
