Yeah!
And while we are at it, let's give Angelika Roesch credit as well for being 3-1 against Elena Dementieva.
She has done nothing in recent years but who cares. :)

How about Jo Durie she leads Steffi in the H2H...and how about Paola Suarez for her 1-0 record over Serena.

aheee!!

The only thing Alex "J-lo" Stevenson should get credit for is constantly making an ass out of herself, and being a major bust. Who did she even beat in basically her only good tournament ever at Wimbledon, before she got thrashed 6-1, 6-1 by Davenport?

Frazier, Barabanchikova, Halard-Decugis, Raymond, and a 16-yr old dokic.

Was that supposed to discredit her? Those are all good grass players. Dokic was good at 16, she'd beaten Hingis and Pierce in that tournament.
Alex reached the top 20 so its not like she was a bad player!

I give Lexy props for still being out there

No.

Lexy has a great game and just needs it to click and
have a favorable draw for her to get her head back
and have the confidence.

Wimbledon July 4 1999
Qual 1 A Stevenson(1) - S Cacic 6-3 7-5
Qual 2 A Stevenson(1) - A Ellwood 6-3 6-4
Qual 3 A Stevenson(1) - H Inoue 6-1 6-4
1 A Stevenson-Q - A Frazier 6-1 3-6 6-3
2 A Stevenson-Q - O Barabanschikova 6-2 6-7(3) 6-3
3 A Stevenson-Q - J Halard-Decugis(11) 6-3 6-3
4 A Stevenson-Q - L Raymond 2-6 7-6(8) 6-1
QF A Stevenson-Q - J Dokic-Q 6-3 1-6 6-3
SF L Davenport(3) - A Stevenson-Q 6-1 6-1

Anyone know outside of Frazier, Raymond, & Lindsay
what would be the equivalent of these players today.

Alexandra still plays the same
all or nothing brand of tennis.

If she could ever hit a hot streak again.

I agree, let's give her credit. After all, she is beautiful, a successful tennis player (WT's answer to Pete Sampras), actress, adored personality, heterosexual, and definitely a future Wimbledon champion...Oh, and probably on the way to an Oscar.

I thought Capriati was a top player at that time..
She HAD the obligation to beat Alex, cuz she sure wasn't coming from a good season..

Maybe Capriati is the feared predator of Stevenson mom's nightmares. Chandler, Alex Jenn and the jacuzzi :tape:

I'd never looked at the results from her wimbledon run b4, but u have to admit that was one hell of a good draw for a qualifier. To make the Qf only to face another QF (how old was Dokic @ that time?) She obviously played well to get there, but I'd never known how the draw had opened up for her.
