serena can't possibly be playing all four warmups, can she?

Guess Lindsay won't be defending her Cincinnati win from last year. But the field is stronger than last year, I think.

Amelie needs to play more than one warmup, in my opinion. But then, Amelie never listens to me.

I can't imagine Serena playing all four tournaments, especially in the shape she's in at the moment. Maybe she thinks she can play her way into better condition for the U.S. Open. But she really needs to heal that ankle and lose that extra weight.

i don't think serena will play 4 tournaments before the us open. i'll be surprised if she plays more than 2.
kim as usual plays in every tournament and will likely injure some part of her body!!!

Ya'll dont know what Venus has planned to play??? I know she normally plays the Acura Classic because she's won that twice and she plays JP morgan too. Venus said in a interview that she does not think Serena is going to play anymore tournaments this year...and that she is working on getting back fit.

 Kim AND Serena down for all four!? That's not right.....I sort of expected Kim to play 3 or 4 of them, but surely Serena won't play four......I would have put Serena down for just 2.

Oh well, we'll see what happens in the near future. Maybe Serena won't to see how her prep pans out because hasn't she hurt her ankle or something? Is it the reason she's not playing Fed Cup? Hopefully she'll be fine and wouldn't need that much match practice :D

I was expecting Lindsay to just do the 3, then she can take 2 weeks off before the US open then ;) A two week rest helped her to prepare for Wimbledon, so hopefully it'll work for the US too ;)

Expect Lindsay to withdraw from one event because of the injury in the Wimbledon final and possibly enter the Rogers Cup (major wishful thinking) or New Haven. Serena also still has the injury so expect her to withdraw from a few of her events too. Stupid Dementieva, she loses 2nd round in Montreal but made the SF in Toronto the year before, and now she's not coming back- though Toronto is arguably the slowest hard court tune up (best for her game).

Kim could really start racking up points again.

Serena's schedule seems a little optimistic to me.

Why so few for Anastasia - family problems ?

Og the HC in Toronto is everything, but slow???

I think it is the same like in Montreal and this one is definitely NOT slow. ;)

Serana's schedule seems crazy for me. Surely coming from an injury she will not participate in all those 4.

The Toronto court is quite slow, because it was a venue with a court that was surfaced about 1-2 days before the first round of qualifying. Last year, Roger Federer said of playing on grass (Wimbledon) and clay (Gstaad- which because of the high altitude is said to play quite fast for a clay court) Toronto's hard court was the slowest. I've never been to Montreal

If I were any of the top players, I'd avoid playing the JP Morgan Chase Open like the plague. Geographically, it's stupid to go that far South to San Diego and then back to LA after being in Stanford. Secondly, it doesn't make sense to play a Tier 1 event and then a Tier 2 after, especially one with a 56 player draw with another 56 player draw Tier 1 tournament right after that. It's better to sit the crappy, meaningless one out. Justine Henin-Hardenne has the right idea. If Kim was smart, she'd at least drop Los Angeles from her schedule.

The other silly idea is to start the US Summer hardcourt season in the US and then travel to bloody Stockholm and back. If Venus is doing that, WHY!? It's a Tier 4 tournament. It won't help your tennis. And even if Stockholm is paying her an exorbitant fee for showing up, they're treating her like a circus act and that doesn't sound right to me.

Sorry, rant over. ;)
