Stanford. Probably because I want to go to college there. And Kim plays good there. So win, win.

Amelia Island- my 1st tournament saw Dementieva beat Henin and Davenport beat Capriati... watched Hantuchova and Dokic also... best tournament and beautiful island!!

Dubai- $1million in prize money, so the stars really show up... and Henin-Hardenne def. Seles was an awesome match!

Stanford- because Lindsay OWNS it

Sydney- starts the year off and often great competition

Antwerp or Stanford, because i love watching Vee play at those tournaments year after year!

But i voted for Stanford, because i think watching Vee play under the hot sun on one of her fav surfaces is just fabulous!

Antwerp, just because it's the closest one so I can go to it (it also has a very good line-up year after year)

Stanford comes in second, because I don't know, it's just when I watch it on TV, there's such an undescribable atmosphere...

Filderstadt. The best Tier II event. All the eight seeds are likely to be in the Top10 which means there are excellent QF line-ups worthy of finals!

I don't really like Tier II tournaments  They just don't seem to be all glamorous looking...But if I had to choose it'd be either Amelia Island or Stanford because (again, just like my favorite Tier I) the court is more intimate and the fans are closer to the players.

i don't really understand what you're trying to say here... you want glamour and intimacy? those often conflict. very few tennis tournaments are glamorous looking anyway...

filderstadt because it's always awesome field, although sydney for me is nice since its the true start of the season, eastbourne was better in the past, but still nice, best part about the US tournaments is tv coverage though, overall, filderstadt though

I just LOVE Dubai.

Probably part of the reason is that Justine performs well there.
But also just the atmosphere is really amazing!

Sydney.... because I live there :p

But it's also possibly the strongest Tier II tournament, as its the only big lead up event to the Australian Open, and generally the first tournament of the year for the top girls.

You might want to check out the Tier III to V tournaments, considering those are the only ones Maria has won...

I don't think it's stronger than Filderstadt.
Who played at Filderstadt last year? I can't remember...

Either way, Sydney is generally pretty strong then, if it isn't the strongest. Not so much this year with the Belgians injured, and Mauresmo deciding to take a break though, but it was still ok.

amelia island is gorgeous, and their couches instead of chairs for the players always add an interesting touch
