why has maria's advert had a voiceover????

i watched an advert...it was maria advertising palmolive...and her voice had bveen dubbed over........she sounded just like andie macdowell in the ad...

they changed the length of the advert and needed a different audio, so they probably just had someone else do it.

Last time I saw the add, the opening few words was still Maria, basically introducing herself, then the rest was a voiceover. The advert has been shortened also, I'm a big fan of Maria but I must admit she has a bit of a high pitched squeaky voice sometimes!.

That ad sucks. It's even worse now it's clearly not Maria speaking...

if you've seen her canon commercial , you should hear why they dubbed her. People forget that she is a teen and during that time the voice is changing even in girls so I assume it was too awkward for advertisers.

I thought she sounded just fine in the Canon commercial. No need to change her voice at all.

I don't hear a STRONG Russian accent...maybe once in a few sentences...but it's not something that you could pick up right away.

Strong is relative... Maybe the advertisers found that her accent was too pronounced and that there would go with a more ''american'' or ''mainstream'' accent. It's just a hypothesis that I'm throwing :scratch:

BTW, here in Canada, it's the add por ''Lady Speedstick'' (a deodorant) that is voiced over.
