Yay! Time for revenge Maria!!! U have nothing to lose. Lindsay's got A LOT to lose this season. The pressure's on the other side now... So have a nice vacation, Maria... and be in full form for the hardcourts next month. Cheers! :)

Filderstadt is a great tournament - all the best players come here and surprised it has never got a Tier I status.

Even the qualifying tournament looks like a Tier II event!

A great tourney which is also super expensive...I soo want to go though. Guess it´s time to start saving some money :D

Such a cool line-up and it´s probably getting better and better

I could not read that damn article...it was in German.....If Sharapova meet the same Venus she met at Wimbledon...she'd better be able to handle that power..epecially from the serve...Venus did not bullshit with that child in the second set....

Maria will want revenge before then - but she'll wait if necessary.

Hmm,I thought Venus would play 2 weeks in Beijing and Guangzhou of China.
If she plays Filderstadt there'll be 3 weeks in a row.
BTW Serena's offical website has put this tournament in her schedule.

Hm... never heard of Van Roost before... who was she?

I could not read that damn article...it was in German.....

Damn...why can´t every article be written in english  :p

A fast translation:

Sharapova and Williams sign up to play Filderstadt

The German tennis fans have reasons to look forward: The WTA-tourney in Filderstadt (3rd - 9th October) is coming up with a brilliant line-up again: One of tourney-director Markus Gunthardt´s "top-sellers" is Wimby-winner Venus Williams (USA) who played the last time at the oldest european indoor tourney in 1998. For the first time in Filderstadt, world-number two, Maria Sharapova is expected.

Also in is Amelie Mauresmo, third ranked. The French had to retire last year due to an injury in the finals and she had to hand over the first prize - a car of the main-sponsor - to American Lindsay Davenport.

Other top stars are French Open winner Justine Henin-Hardenne as well as the Russians Elena Dementieva, Anastasia Myskina and Nadia Petrova. "

Oh yeah, those are nice...and the best thing is: they don´t even care who´s sitting there, at long as it is the winner;)

Also love how close the crowd is sitting to the court, it´s cool. Very close atmosphere.
