There is no doubt in my mind that Lindsay has had the better tennis carrer. She has won 47 tournaments to about 14 for Jennifer. She has been ranked #1 for many more weeks than Jennifer, or Venus for that matter. Perhaps the biggest difference between them is that Jennifer was an early bloomer, while Lindsay was a rather late bloomer. Though they are the same age, one hardly ever heard of Lindsay while Jennifer was super hyped when they started their carrers. No doubt Jennifer, at her best, was a great player but for various unfortunate reasons part of her carrer was ruined. When she finally got her game together she had a few outstanding years. She is much to be admired for her great comeback, however, Lindsay was still a more consistant winner.

She might have won more tournaments but I don't care Jen is bigger name then Lindsay!!! I think it sucks that Lindsay is number one in the world and still never really gets the recognition she deserves. For goodness sakes its always the William sisters or Maria. I really think she deserves more for all that she has done over the past 2 years. I really hope she wins another grand slam along with Jen. I think it would be sweet if Lindsay and Jen played eachother in the next two grand slam finals Jen could take the USO and then Lindsay the AO. That is just me dreaming though!!

I don't think it's that easy though.

I mean let's break it down by their ages.

There's no doubt Capriati had a better career as a teenager.

There's no doubt Lindsay had a better career as an early 20's player.

There's no doubt Jenn had a better career as a mid 20's player.

There's no doubt, right now, that Lindsay in her late 20's is having a better career.

Who knows what the next few years would bring.

Looking at the slams alone, it's fairly even but yes Lindsay has had a slightly better career due to her success across the tour. I mean she's won more tournaments, being #1 longer.

But really there's not much in between.

I think Capriati has been more famous and will leave a stronger legacy.

No doubt Lindsey Davenport has had a better career, a model professional throughout her career with many titles. No breaks for off field problems like Capriati had.

30 plus tournaments (a career in itself), 3 year end #1 to zero, 4 more GS finals, greater variety of slams, dominant head to head is 'not much'?

Jennifer was a better player than Lindsay for about 18 months. When I say 'better' I mean she achieved more. Even during that period Lindsay dominated her in their head to head meetings. Jennifer was a top 3 player for two years. (2001,2002) Lindsay has been a top 3 player for most of the last decade, and spent much of that time in the top 2. (1997,1998,1999,2000,2001,2004,2005).

Look I'm a massive Jennifer fan, a bigger fan of hers than I am of Lindsay, but there is no doubt that Lindsay is the superior player.

Lindsay is an under achiever in majors but really when you look at her overall career there is no issue here as to whom is more accomplished.

I do agree with Jennifer's legacy burning brighter though. And I won't begrudge her that one bit. She is an inspiration and I will love her forever :hearts:

That's awesome :hearts:

It almost came true at the US Open last year, but those Russians had to get in the way
