Hi, I'm new, and I'll start by saying I am heartbroken over Lindsay's Wimbledon loss. She and Amelie (that semifinal wasn't easy for me, either) and Kim are my very favorite players, though I enjoy watching many others: Justine, Patty, Venus, Serena, Jennifer, Mary, Paulo and Virginia...too many to name.

(Right after the finals concluded, my dear friend I hadn't seen in ten years came to visit, and it was hard to explain to her why I was so sad.)

If someone had to beat Lindsay, however, I'm glad it was Venus, whose comeback I always thought would occur. I just wish it hadn't been yesterday.

I've been a tennis fan for a long time, though there have been periods when I've drifted away, and I regret those periods. My favorite player of all time I is Chris Evert, but I also really admire Evonne, Martina N., Steffi, and Monica.

In April, I attended the Family Circle Cup, which was a great experience.

I am an active blogger, and though my blog is mainly socio/political, I do blog on women's tennis from time to time, and quite a bit during slams.

And one more thing...I miss Martina Hingis.

nice to meet you! Im sure you'll fit in with all the other Miss Hingis "missers". lol.

For me it was same but still total opposite yesterday. I was so ecstatic about Vee's win, but had she lost i would have been gutted as well, however if it had to be anyone to lost to it would be Lindsay, so i suppose we kinda think the same, sort of...lol.

anyway nice to meet you.

Hi! :wavey:

There are not many new members these days, clearly we have a conservative administration ;)

Anyway you'll soon realise the people to assosiate with and to avoid. ;)

Welcome. I was going for Venus/Serena, but I would have loved for Davenport to win it otherwise. Davenport played an awesome game. She has everything to be proud of. She has a good chance of winning in the U.S.Open.

Thanks all, for the very nice welcome.

sadsmiley, my mother was British, and much of my family still lives in or around London. I first became interested in women's tennis because I was over there in my uncle's house one June while Wimbledon was taking place, and I saw it every day on television.
