Well, I just saw the Suze Orman interview with Kathy Trant, the 9/11 widow who blew nearly 5 million dollars as a way of her overcoming the grief of losing her husband.
You know it's funny, when I first saw her story posted on here, I had actually thought that perhaps Suze should talk to her and I was frankly quite surprised and glad to have heard her story tonight.
The bottom line is folks, we all do nutty things when we are grieving, and money is often an escape. Turns out her daughter was following a similar path as she blew nearly 90 percent of her own settlement money.
Kathy's sons at least have their money secure, but what I found tonight that Trant's situation was very genuine and I honestly can say I feel much more sympathy toward her situation than I did maybe two weeks ago.
When all is said and done and if Kathy follows what Suze told her to do, she will have $250k left and hopefully will be able to straighten out her financial life. Hopefully, her rampant spending has come to an end.
God bless Mrs. Trant and her family.
