OK, so I was flashed y'day doing about 60 MPH coming off the m54 onto this shitty side road. Has anyone else (from the UK) been caught? How fast were you going, how far over the limit were you, and how much did you have to pay? Thanks. :)

I don't, normally  But, I was averaging about 100 for 2 hours along the M54 and coming down to 60 or 70 seems really slow  It didn't help that I was lost, too.

i got flashed doing 40 in a 30, about a year ago. I waited but nothing ever come of it, apparently my friend said that half the time the camera will flash and stuff but no film in it, so u just gotta hope that lots of people were speeding at that point before you.

Just a matter of luck, good luck dude!!!!!!!!!

I've been caught a few times. Never got a ticket for the actual speeding, thou. I've only had two tickets in my life: careless driving [for swerving ] & for having something hanging off my rearview mirrow [I was speeding, doing 63 in a 40, but he decided to be nice].

Twice!! :o One time I was doing 75 in a 35 mph zone --told the cop I was sick and was racing home to barf  He asked if I needed an ambulance and proceeded to let me off. The next time I wasn't so lucky :( I was heading to a toll booth. The idiot cop on his motorcycle claimed I was going 65 when 45 is the limit. The sucker gave me a $178 (my summer trip cash) ticket  and I decided to take the 5 stinking hour online traffic class (29bucks) to save a lousy 13% off the ticket and to avoid points
I dunno about other places, but there are incentive programs the traffic cops here in SW FL . :fiery: Some hand out a gazillion tickets a day just to go deepsea fishing

so did i. but i have a pretty good instinct as to who is horny and who isn't. the guy looked like he needed some ego-boosting badly. all i did was jiggle very slightly and say in malay "janganlah bang. kasihan saya, tengah nak pergi jumpa mak kat hospital!tolonglah, bagilah peluang kali nie, aku janji takkan buat lagi" (translation (in a very seductive voice) ohplease officer, i'm in such a rush to see my mom at the hospital!pretty please, let me go just this one time, i promise i wont do it again"...and for effect, i put my hand on my bosom when i said "i promise i wont do it again"....i cant believe he actualyl fell for it. moron!

I said turn right at the island onto the M54 westbound towards Telford/Shrewsbury & Wales, not turn left onto the M54 South-East bound heading for the M6 South & Birmingham  :p

I've gotten pulled over once for going 66 in a 45 and flashed twice, once for going 50 in a 35 (damn cop was hiding behind a school bus!) and once for going 100 in 70.

I got busted 2 years ago when I had my Civic doing around 95mph. The officer was cool though, and wrote that I was going 75mph. I haven't done that again since.

Just a few weeks ago, I got caught by a revenue-raising camera doing 87 or 88 k, or something like that, in the Burnley Tunnel. The tunnel is an 80 zone but it's actually part of a high-speed tollway which is zoned at 100. Why the hell you are supposed to slow down when there's no traffic on the road, just because there are walls around you, is beyond me. It's still a good, multi-lane carriageway. Fortunately I had actually slowed a bit, and it was just a minor fine and only one demerit point.

I do get caught speeding now and then, though the last time had been quite a few years ago. I hate driving slowly, but I'm fairly careful about speed limits...annoying as they are.

I'm surprised I haven't yet, driving slow bores me.

Three or four times, but they were only minor offences, under 10 km/h over the speed limit.

I knowwwwwwwwwww....

Plus, my uncle used to be chief over the Dutch 'gay' team... :tape:
He learned them how to be good police men/women without... I don't really know WHAT the point of that was actually...

But it DOES mean I know all the cute closet cases, so I can flirt my way out of a ticket when I need to! :tape: :p

Basically, initially you have to confirm it was you driving the car, and write down your deatials, and post it off to the DVLA. The DVLA will then write back with a form to send you bank deatials to, and then you will have also send in your liecence papers,a dn your photocard to the DVLA, were they will record the offense and issue your points. You have three months to complete each stage of the process if i remember correcly so if you choose to you dont have to pay for 6 months, but its bets not to, cos they miht raise your fine.

ooooooh. I didn't tell my parents, and the insurance is under their names. Mum has drove the car a couple of times, maybe I could blame it on her.
